Where are my glasses?

^ etc. She likened it to the smell of a horse getting shod. I.e. When the red-hot shoe goes onto the hoof. It could've been the drugs of course :}
Do they tape your eyelids open, you'd have to blink otherwise??

I've heard they clamp your eyelids open. Not sure if this is true.

I took my mom to have hers done. They offered to let me watch, but I declined. I can handle pretty much anything, except for things that has to do with the eyes.

There's a metal tool that eye surgeons use that basically holds the eyelids back and keeps the eye exposed. It clamps into place and keeps the lids retracted. The effect is pretty gross if you haven't seen it before, because it exposes more of the eyeball than you normally see. My dad was a ophthalmic surgeon before he retired and I remember he used to bring videos of various operations home, so I got desensitised at a young age. :D

Not desensitised enough to want lasik or whatever though! :lol:

EDIT - this is this sort of thing often used in eye ops
