It'd be interesting to compare how many "bad calls" there have been over the past few years. Of coruse, I don't know how you'd define "bad call", but it'd still be interesting. I tend to think the problem is worse at the college level, but then they haven't had as much timer with instant replay.

I havn't really heard much bout the calls in NCAA. But I have never seen so many game/score altering calls before in any one season that were screw ups by the Refs like this year.

Perhaps there has always been just as many bad calls, but not ones that drasticaly affected the outcome of games, drives and possibly seasons in some cases. Who knows what may have happened to the Chargers this year had they not had a game stolen from them by an untimely whistle by the Ref. It could have changed their whole perspective and drive for the season had they won that game. I'm by no means a Chargers fan, but I certainly feel for them. I do believe it happened twice this year.

EDIT- I take that back... Hillis is officially on IR. :( I guess he has a 2-3 inch tear in the hamstring muscle and they'r perdicting at least an 8 week recovery period. Like I said above, I hope when next season rolls around, we get to see him and Pittman as the premier backs.

I picked him up on Saturday for one of my keeper leagues: Should've know that'd be the kiss of death for him.

Damn. It makes me think the Broncos running backs wear red jerseys in practice the way they've gone down this year.

:lol::lol::lol: Red Shirt joke, way to bring it home!

Only on a Trek board, only on a Trek board.

:D

Hehe... and THAT reminds me of something my 13 yr old daughter (who is a football fan, btw) commented on last night. I used the term "redshirt freshman", and she thought I was actually referring to injured players. As in the Trek term "redshirt".

I lost $20 on last night's game
I had faith in Jeff Garcia and his guys
Oh well...

I can't believe the Texans beat Green Bay
And what about my 9ers! :D

Jags fan, huh? How do you feel about them signing Garard to that big contract? He seems to have been a disappointment this season, but maybe it hasn't been his fault.

The NFL officiating has had its forgettable moments for sure, but I'm not so sure it outstrips teh NCAA gaffes. Maybe there's something in the air, or some diseas affecting only people wearing black-and-white striped clothing.

the jags had freaking major injuries in along the oline.
that immediately affects the level of a qbs play and add in none of the wr's
have either been healthy or if new turned into crap signings.

Yeah Jerry "I can't hold onto shit" Porter has been a big fucking waste.
Matt Jones has shown up far more times in clutch situations and had the
Oline been protecting Garrard and giving him more time, and made the running
game more effective, I think Matt Jones would have turned out to be alot
bigger a reciever this year.

Next year, this was just some kind of kick in the ass season after getting
a playoffs win. Del Rio is a great coach and will hopefully straighten things
out in the offseason.

Yeah I have to say Porter has not panned out. It's strange because he was one of the better recievers on Raiders.

I think with the Jaguars, it just comes down to injuries. I mean their o-line was devastated which killed their running game.

And what about my 9ers! :D

It's great, but I don't like the fact that Gore is questionable for Sunday. That would suck if he doesn't play.

Yeah, considering Gore was the only part of our running game to score a touchdown. I don't think we've had much sucess scoring touchdowns with Robinson and Foster.

Foster has really dissapointed me. He was always decent in Carolina, just hampered by injuries. But this year he has been relatively healthy, yet he just looks so relative ineffective.

49ers got a chance to beat Miami and St.louis. I sure hope Gore can play. Defenses won't fear us as much without Gore.

Here's to an 8-8 season!

Yup. Killed the running game, which killed Garrards ability to be an effective passer. There goes the offense. Bright spots like I said would be Matt Jones who I think will have a big year next year, and Mojo and Freddie T have had their moments, but again with no Oline support...

The D has had some good moments aswell but overall fairly blah.

Next year... next year...

So what are these secret plays that Romo and Witten are running? I'm told it's called "running the correct routes and being where the quarterback expects you to be." Of course T.O. would be pissed off that they'd do something so contrary to his own play style!

Owens is such the publicity whore. And then for him to claim he's not jealous of Witten after making such a typically jackass statement has to take the cake.

meh.....I hate the Cowpatties. I hate them so much that if they lost every single game for the next five years, then moved to LA as the LA Quakes and disappeared into a large crack in the earth after their namesake, I'd still be hating them for years afterwards.

Oh, did I mention I don't care for the Cowpies?

Here's to an 8-8 season!
And our coach!

Hell, who would have thunk it... the team responded to seeing a man's ass!

Maybe he threatened them that if they didn't play well, he'd drop trou again

I think it was only a matter of time. As TO said a few years ago, "I love me some me". He has a very short shelf life with a team.

I'm glad to see the wheels shooting off.

Tell us how you really feel.

I don't know much about Romo as a person, so I can't speak to his attitude. However, I do know that after the loss to Pittsburgh Witten blamed a crucial late-game incompletion on himself. Replays showed it appeared Witten ran the wrong route, turning one way when he shouhdl have turned the other way - where Romo threw the ball. That makes me thinking these meetings are simply to work on communication and learning the route/play better.

T.O. for all of his talent comes off as being very insecure.
