Most gay moment in Trek

Geordi singing I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major General. Come on, musical theater?

Well, to be fair, Geordi didn't *want* to do it, Beverly kept nagging him about it. He only sang that one bit to shut her up.

That being said, I guess I'll never understand why theater is supposed to be so damn "gay" anyway.

I'm curious as to why anyone cares what the most gay or most straight moment in trek is, seriously. I'm honestly curious.

Any kind of subtext is fun to pick out. As soon as Trek finally gets around to producing an openly gay character/scene, we'll all be bored by the question.

The way Sisko gets close and says "Old Man." At least Jadzia is hot, but knowing some old "dude" is in there is too much.

*Not saying gay is a bad thing for the record* And I'm not talking about a full-on lesbian kiss like Dax/Kahn or Dax/Kira or something like that. I'm talking male-on-male touching, cuddling, affection, creepy dialogue between two people that you'd expect between lovers but are between two grown men.

The scene in Loud as a Whisper when Riva is talking to Geordi on the bridge, Geordi touched Riva's chest as a gesture of kindredness(?) Totally ghey.

:wtf:

I don't think its odd at all. For years on ST we've seen alien gestures of greeting and other rituals that are unusual to us. However, even on Earth, some cultures--Italians like myself for example--who are very tactile. File this one under:

RAMA

I vote for RAMA's avatar. :p

Otherwise, there is always Turnabout Intruder, although I suppose that doesn't count because Kirk's body has been taken over by a woman. Still, the episode does have its awkward moments.

Well, to be fair, Curzon was only the most recent host prior to Jadzia. If you go back far enough, Dax's first host was female anyway (Lela).

I see no problem with that. I'm sure physical gestures mean more to Riva since he's deaf, and Geordi being blind, can relate to the drive to overcome personal disability to achieve their dreams. Plus, some people are tactile. I'm one of them.

J.

Gotta agree with you, J. Well stated.

Thank you. :)

you guys go around touching other men on the chest do ya?

ok...

I'm bi and I'm uncomfortable slapping a guy on the butt in that kind of company even.

No, I don't go around touching men on the chest. Of course, I explained my reasoning above. You know, there are quite a few non-"gay" reasons to touch a man on the chest. CPR is one of them. Is that "gay"? I mean, "I'd love to save this guy's life but I have to touch him on the chest to give CPR! Oh, and when I say love to save this guy's life, I mean that in a totally non gay way!"

^ I even used the rolleyes smiley on that one, and I hate the rolleyes smiley, but this thread is pretty infantile. Not unusual, but infantile. If tongue in cheek, which I suspect, still, just rather childish. Just my opinion, of course.

I don't remember the name of the episode off the top of my head, but there was a DS9 scene where Miles and Julian are trapped in Sloan's mind where the conversation about Miles spending more time with Julian than Keiko that went on to get a little awkward.

"I love my wife!" :guffaw:
