I only drink on special occasions or when I'm watching rugby. Once every few months I'll just drink for drinkings sake though.

^ It's easy to get carried away, given the chance... I once went to a house-party where the hosts had wine coming out of five litre tap dispensers (good quality wine surprisingly), and each guest who arrived brought not one bottle, but a basket of them. I haven't seen so much booze in one place before or since. There were no non-alcoholic drinks provided, if you wanted one, you had to go find the kitchen tap! Non-hard drinkers were obviously not welcome. :p Suffice to say, almost every single last person there got absolutely frekkin' legless without even being aware of it. I'm not quite sure how many glasses I had, but I was sick for about three days after that. :wtf:

Wow, sounds like quite a party. I've had a few hungover mornings, but I am proud to say I've never gotten to the point where I've been physically sick. A dry mouth and a headache is the worst I've ever woken up with.

Lucky.

I've gotten better, but there used to be a time when I would get hungover even if I didn't get drunk the night before. One or two drinks and I felt like shit the next day.

No. Do people actually do that?

But seriously, I'm talking ONE BEER. I would have a beer, which is not enough to get me even the slightest bit tipsy, get a full night's sleep, and I'd wake up with a pounding headache and a powerful need to vomit.

Now it takes A LOT more to do that to me.

Yes, I actually do that. And if I don't, I suffer. Your body needs plenty of water to process alcohol. Dehydration by itself gives me massive headaches, let alone adding alcohol to the problem!

Oh, I know, but when I'm drinking, I'm not usually thinking too hard about the mechanics of it. I definitely suffer the next day, but I deal with it.

Often have a drink in the week, it helps to wind down in an evening, and sometimes the evening meal just doesn't seem complete without a glass of wine.

The weekends are for beer though, not so much recently, but the highlight of the weekend was always meeting up with mates down the local and putting the world to rights with a few fine ales. Bliss.

I just had a mug of hot milk with Captain Morgan rum and some brown sugar. Just the thing for a cold winter's evening.

you're just not thinking out of the box....

1 tin sardines, 2 spoons peanut butter, and 4 spoons castor oil, dash of tabasco, whip, add 1 shot Peppermint Shnaps to give it something to float on top of....

and drink very slowly...

mmmmmm...... that'll put hair on the bottom of your feet.

^ That's me! If there's a beer in the fridge when I get home from work I'll have one, and I usually end up going out for a few on Fridays.

Although the month of December is usually the hardest drinking month for me - have a staff party, 3 good friend's bdays, Christmas with my alcoholic family and new years.

After years of partying a little too exuberantly, I am now teetotal since about 1999. I do not miss hangovers.

Precisely the problem.

Unfortunately, Americans tend to associate the word "beer" with "cheap" and "mass produced."

Try some good microbrews if you live in the states, Great Lakes, Sierra Nevada, Stone Brewery, Goose Island. International? Guinness (obviously), Chimay Blue, Red or White ale (Belgium).

mm. I've reviewed some 700 beers on beerpal.com :).
