Most gay moment in Trek

*Not saying gay is a bad thing for the record* And I'm not talking about a full-on lesbian kiss like Dax/Kahn or Dax/Kira or something like that. I'm talking male-on-male touching, cuddling, affection, creepy dialogue between two people that you'd expect between lovers but are between two grown men.

The scene in Loud as a Whisper when Riva is talking to Geordi on the bridge, Geordi touched Riva's chest as a gesture of kindredness(?) Totally ghey.

I see no problem with that. I'm sure physical gestures mean more to Riva since he's deaf, and Geordi being blind, can relate to the drive to overcome personal disability to achieve their dreams. Plus, some people are tactile. I'm one of them.

I always thought Julian and Garak skated closer to that line, but I can't think of any specific moments.

Yep...I think it mainly came from how Garak looked at Julian..he always seemed to be leering at Julian.

I was always under the impression that was just another of Garak's defensive tactics, meant to keep Bashir focused on and guessing about the wrong/meaningless things.

I know "Garak was gay" is a popular belief, but I never saw it, really... and they did go out of their way to give him a hetero love affair.

Also, this thread is totally sexist. By concentrating only on male homosexuality we completely negate the possibility of pics of Jadzia the almost-lesbian.

OH! and the DS9 version of the mirror universe was fraught with gheyosity. Garak wearing a collar held by Worf? The Intendant and... well, every woman she ever encountered including our Kira?

I think Andrew Robinson's book generally stated that Garak was sexually ambiguous, he could be whomever he had to be for whatever reason. While I think he had a real friendship with Julian, I didn't see it as more than that either, and I agree, I see it more as a tactic to keep people guessing. It would be unlike Garak to be completely open about anything.

Hm...I think there's a fair chance Garak's character was gay. Then again, he could well have been bi (my "most likely" pick) or asexual--or even straight, but it's hard to tell exactly what he really WAS as opposed to what he wanted any given person to think.

What ultimately makes it so hard to tell, though, is when he was confronted with Ziyal's obvious love for him, he didn't know how to react at all. There just isn't any way to tell whether his reaction is because he was not interested in women, not interested in her in particular--or simply flustered because for once, someone tried to earn his affections without it being because of one of his manipulations.
