Thermal Underwear and leggings.

It's getting cold walking around out there!!

Hugo - 24% less manly underneath the outer garments

I bought a new pipe today--a Stanwell Vario, made in Denmark. Partly sandblasted, and partly smooth. Smokes very nicely.

We got a new family car yesterday... it's an Audi Q5 with a 2.0TDI (170HP). This thing does 35mpg btw. ;) I seriously love the fact that you can open & close the trunk by pushing a button.

Here's approximately what it looks like.

My absinthe glassware set arrived today, from France:

The bubble in the stem is designed to allow you to measure out a shot of the liquor, before diluting it with water.

And on Holdfast's recommendation, I bought a bottle of sherry. I'm not sure what I think of it yet, but I now know why I always saw drunks and bums drinking it: that stuff is cheap.

A new Timex digital watch. I can't live without it telling me the date and how much longer left in a class block.

A trio of CSI paperback novels for my Ma's Christmas present and two more CDs - "Bang" by Thunder and Dido's "Safe Trip Home".

Home Depot has a sale ($99) on this Porter Cable brad nail gun/compressor which we can't pass up. This is going to be like a godsend for us. We'll buy a finish nailgun a little later on, but we're picking this beauty up today :D

A new desk chair, something that was long overdue (14 years to be exact....) I have to wait 5 weeks till it will be here. It's going to be hard!

I bought a coat, some black gloves and some earrings. I've needed a coat for a while but had to finally go and get one today because I'm going to the opera on Monday and don't think that my usual old jumpers etc. are going to cut it for the Royal Opera House.

I got myself a little lamp yesterday, and a laptop pillow-table. And dough for a gingerbread house, but I couldn't resist using it for cookies instead, so cookies it was.

Today I bought a new lamp for our living room. The previous one broke last night and Dad wasn't too happy. But it had SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED! I had to put the lamp shade together, as well as the whole lamp. The lamp shade is a BITCH! And now my thumbs are rubbed raw from trying to get those metal thingys into the rectangular clips. Our former mechanic is gonna come by later and put the shade together cause I have had trouble and gave up after my fingers rubbed raw. My left thumb feels like a raw piece of meat.

Sherry is tremendous value. So's Madeira. Can't understand how it's not more expensive but I'm not complaining!

This looks a pretty damn cool chair; looks lifted directly off the Enterprise bridge!

Nice coat. The opera isn't particularly glam these days (unless it's a gala opening night or something like that), but still a nice excuse to dress up a bit. Not that anyone should need an excuse... :)

Freak: I hope the lamp was nice enough to justify all the trouble. :)

Thanks Holdfast! Some of my relatives have been wondering why I could not just go to the officeshop on the corner and get a new one.... I must admit it's somewhat futuristic design was a primary reason to get this one. (also RH the manufacturer, has a good philosophy on ergonomics.) It will fit well in front of the viewscreen, uhm I mean monitors! :p
