I love Thanksgiving.

It's all about FOOD! I'm looking forward to a nice, big, awesome dinner.



And, yeah, giving thanks for everything I'm thankful for over this past year.

I'm going to sit here seething with jealousy as all of you colonials eat all of the stuff I want to eat.

Oddly enough, my family is having a crown roast of pork this year instead of turkey for the first time. It should be an interesting time.

My wife will be busy all morning making a delicious meal with turkey and ham as the main focus. The girls will by trying to help her so they can continue their learning to cook. God help my wife.

I think I'm looking forward to the turkey soup afterwards more than the actual first meal.

My family keeps it small. Just immediate family (Mom, Dad, me, brother, SiL, niece) and when I get there after work I'll help my mom make dinner. I made a cheesecake the other night and I'll likely make the mashed potatoes at dinner and help with other sides as well as clean up the kitchen. Then we'll all sit down and probably watch some movies or something.

I already helped my mom this evening.

We fixed the potato salad and banana pudding, both which are now getting cold in our fridge. Tomorrow we start on the turkey, and will also make stuffing, deviled eggs, mashed potatoes and rolls.

I hope, I pray with all of my being, that Thanksgiving will be a good day, and that all will go well, with peace and family together.

Going to a massive family meal. There will be about 30 of us, I hear.

It will be alot of fun...but most likely very, very loud.

This is a good holiday. I like this holiday. It's point hasn't yet been ruined like Christmas's has been - it's still about family and thanks. And I like that in a holiday.

I feel that I've had a terrible year. It's hard to get myself into the mindset of thankfulness when things are at such a low point.

Intellectually, I know this is not the right way to see. I am not living an easy life, but many things in it, including the ability to sit at my computer in peace and relative comfort and type this message, are still best regarded as luxuries. I will be thankful for what I still have these days. I wish a happy Thanksgiving to everyone on TrekBBS.
