The New Enterprise in 3D! ... NOW FINISHED (threads merged)

Re: STXI Enterpise, Finished! Lots of images...

Looks good to me. When looking at the ship head on in the trailer the pylons appeared to be curved there as well though. Also, the white band with the circle in the middle on the bussard collectors have been gone since one of your earlier versions. Speaking of the collectors, even when lit up I imagine they should be clear or translucent, and act as light sources, as well as the deflector dish. But the basic shape is very nicely done. It's made the ship grow on me.
Thanks. :)

The pylons are curved, but they may not be curved enough. The look more curved in different perspective views, as opposed to the orthos.

Yeah, I took the band off after I saw the pic with Kirk looking up at the ship from the ground. I didn't see it there. I'm not sure if it's going to be on there, or not. I can always put it back. :)

Yeah, light sources from objects and translucent objects aren't my strong suit. :) I'm still working on that.

Re: STXI Enterpise, Finished! Lots of images...

MadMan1701A, I was unimpressed by the publicity photo. You've done an excellent job of fleshing out what this ship may look like using that as a primary source.
Thanks for letting us judge her by more than one angle.

Re: STXI Enterpise, Finished! Lots of images...

Well done. It does indeed give us a better vision of the vessel. Thanks for your effort.

Re: STXI Enterpise, Finished! Lots of images...

I love it! I defintely think that they should've used an angle like the fifth pic that you posted.

I'm really starting to warm up to this new design.

Re: STXI Enterpise, Finished! Lots of images...

Thanks everybody. Next Project is that Weird Space Station from the trailer, then Back to the old Kelvin. :)

Re: STXI Enterpise, Finished! Lots of images...

Amazing work.

Seriously, I've really come to appreciate this ship because of what you've done. The other angles really give me great confidence.

I especially like the way it looks from the side and the back underneath views. From straight back and down, it could almost be the Refit Enterprise. :)

Re: STXI Enterpise, Finished! Lots of images...

Nice. I especially like the underneath angle--it has a very "Tomorrow is Yesterday" feel to it.

Re: Ok, someone had to do it... The New Enterprise in 3D!

It has certainly grown on me, great job! I am a little puzzled because while the shapes are sleeker, the actual ship is not.

Re: STXI Enterpise, Finished! Lots of images...

Whoops, I posted what I meant to post here in your other thread.

...uh...good work! Love the orthos.

You might have to refresh your browser, I had to, to see if I made any spelling errors.

* Shrugs *

Well, like MadMan, I'm not seeing the ship, either. But I dug it out of the HTML and hope you don't mind my reposting it here:

How many prims did this take? Is it on display anywhere within SL? If you have a SLURL for it, I'd love to visit it.

I think it's like 75 or so Prims IIRC.

I don't own land in SL so it's not on display anywhere on SL.

I'm thinking of selling 'copies' of it for 10L, as there's no flying script for it or anything fancy like that.

* I could place one at the Trek Museum I guess if they'd like it for there *

Since the "finished" thread was the same topic as the initial one, both threads have been merged and the original renamed to reflect this.

Awsome work, as always.
I did notice the little red stripes around the bridge module...LOL.
(you need the little blue starfleet logo on there too)
I'm joking. :)
Great work.
Waiting to see the multi-saucer "starbase" thread.
(Maybe the octopus ship after that?)

I think most of the shapes are allright but the saucer is still to big...

Compare it with this image!

This one has a very forced closeup to the saucer

Is The saucer too Big or the nacelles just Closer than what they normally giving you the illusion that the Saucer is larger?
