Official Trailer Review & Comments Thread!! [Spoilers, of course]

Moving so fast I almost couldn't get a screencap :)
That shot reminds me of Star Trek III.

I noticed this shot in the trailer and thought how beautiful and reminiscent of old school model effects shots it was. ILM appear to have done a really beautiful job with this film.

$150 million and no "name" actors, outside of Nimoy and he may have settled for a smaller up front for a chunk of the back side, to pay an above average chunk of that to goes a long way...

Guys, she is clearly green. She's in the same exact light as Kirk. And that is the actress who plays the Orion, I believe.
I don't see anything that suggests greenness to me. She looks like a caucasian human in shadow.

Well, aside from her...being green, look at her hand on Kirk's arm. They are in exactly the same light and her hand is a much darker, greenish color. Also, her make-up is slightly worn on her fingers.

Just don't see it. You might be right... but from the trailer shots she doesn't look green to me at all. Guess we'll see in May.

Or sooner, never know how they are going to cut the TV ads. ;)

A smoking hot green chick might make a good tv spot. ;)

Kirk seems to be gettin' it on in the same type of room Uhura is taking off her top in. Enterprise crew quarters? What would an Orion be doing on the Enterprise?

Maybe she's Pikes babe. ;)

What does it matter. Sex scene in trek, something new.:techman:
Well, we've seen a lot of highly suggestive stuff before. Its going to be a PG-13 movie - I doubt they'll be able to show more than Iron Man did.

My guess is that she's rooming with Uhura.

That's why Jim's under the bed.

Uhura takes off her shirt because she thinks she's alone with the Orion chick.

Only thing that makes sense to me.

Re: Future police

So is this future police dude either:-

1. A police robot.
2. A policeman/women in a mask with a voice synthasizer, if so why?
3. Something else.

If it's robot, why does he lift up a visor?

His hands are in the air near his head and then come doen but are not near a vizor.

There's only two logical assumptions for what that motion means:
A) He making faces/ funny gestures at the young destroyer of vehicles or...
B) He's lifting a visor. If you look at the close up of the cop's face, you can even see the visor is see through and it looks like the round things on the side of his head are joints to move it on.

My fave shot is at about 1:14 of Kirk and Spock looking at the camera with the bridge and crew in behind.

Any chance of a screen cap?

Thanks! It reminds me of a line from Edith Keeler about where she figures they're rightful place is; to Kirk: "in command," and to Spock: "and you, at his side, as if you've always belonged there." I probably butchered it but the sentiment was there. :)

Just wait till the "unrated DVD" gets released... ;)

And it's two-tone, you can see it through the visor, with the top colour lying up with the top of the visor if it was down...

Beats me, but we know she's in the movie, there were spy pics of her in green make-up. Of course, she was wearing a sweat-suit over the swirly green underwear we see in the trailer. :D

I still think not all of the effects may have been done or included in this trailer in scenes involving live action shots...

That's a good cap, but when you watch it it seems as if his hands are infront of his head.

Re: Future police

The robot just realized he's up against James Tiberius "Kirk vs. Machine means Kirk wins."
