I don't think anyone is expecting Kirk to be shown giving her a pearl necklace!
Nah, I just expect him to give her a facial.
cooleddie47, is that you?

Oh dear heavens I hope not. Once they see the ravings of the lunatic fringe, they may pull the movie altogether! It just hit me!.... Ye know what's going to happen, don't you?... Why have they released this trailer so early down the line? They know we've all be dying to see sneek peeks at it, and it's still six months till it hits the screen. It wouldn't surprise me in the least that Paramount has scouts out there taking note of all this to report back home to head office for the production to really vamp-up the film ready for May to what we all hope for!![]()
Rant away, my friend. Everybody has equal-ranting-opportunity here!ETA: this post is not directed at anyone in particular, just me ranting.
Agreed. "Moron" or "lazy" isn't right. "Unconcerned?" Possibly? "Arrogant?" Probably. "Incompetent?" Probably not.I really fail to see the problem with the whole Earth vs space construction. Are you free to disagree with it? Sure, enjoy. Are you free to post a 90 page thesis on why Star Trek was way better when the ship was built in space? Sure thing. But I really don't like when people come in here to call Abrams & co. 'morons' or 'lazy' or 'unimaginative' based on this issue.
Well, that's only because that portion of the ship was subcontracted to Gallifrey Shipyards...In TMP, the lounge doesn't fit in the saucer. The people who built the set KNEW this. They even had a few sketches of an alternate design that was just as good that would fit. And you know what? They chose to build it so it didn't fit for no other reason than that they felt like it.
Best reason of all for building it on the ground; the effects shot of it lifting off the ground, ascending into space.

Nah. Best reason is James T. Kirk looking up at it being constructed.
Better than special effects.
I'm not sure we'll see it lifting off anyway.
Not seeing it lift off would be a bummer. We better not miss that in lieu of seeing Kirk/Uhurh shagging.

Sorry, but I'd rather see Zoe's front domes activate than the Enterprise's.

Just be sure to shower alone.
From what I've read of your posts so far, they are commonly, to all of us, of an antagonistic approach anyway - at least be honest with yourself. But if you intend to subtlely, personally attack a total stranger you have absolutely no clue about their life journey to start with, I suggest you take them on outside this forum, one-to-one. Another thing... Maybe the lunatics (you so easily label) have far more beautiful things to offer than the usual-regular "stuff". If you feel you have the power to cast such harsh generalised judgements upon others, here is a Native American Sharmanic quote for you, to put you in proper perspective to consider such things more appropriately and respectfully, it goes like this... "Walk two weeks in the shoes of another person, and then you may be able to judge them correctly."...I'll just consider the source and walk on by...That's a rather harsh call coming from one who participates in that...Oh dear heavens I hope not. If you follow my posts long enough you will find that I usually advocate a reasoned approach. Occasionally the Haters Club pushes me -and many others- over the line.
