So don't ask the purplebellies. What they don't know won't hurt us.

I think they'd catch on pretty quick when ships started zipping around the system at FTL speeds. ;)

Refit; as a kid in the 80's, TOS always looked dated to me in that NASA-Dyna-soar kind of way. The movies always seemed more contemporary to me, even thought it looks art-deco. I think the swept pylons might have had something to do with it; q.v.: early jet fighrers vs. late cold war jets.

As an aside (since it's related to interiors as opposed to exterior ship design) I have to admit that to me in 80's, the original series bridge and sets looked poor and anachonistic compared to the movie-era bridges and sets (which, admittedly, now look anachronistic due to archaic computer graphics on the screens), and this surely influences my opinion.

I voted refit, despite my nostalgic good feelings for the original TV version. Of course, both movie versions are more majestic owing to movie budgets. So the newest version is in third place for me, even though the more I see it, the more I like it. BTW, NCC-1701, is that Bruce Greenwood as Captain Pike in your avatar? -- RR

Voted for Refit, still my favorite of all the trek spaceships. I like the new one, but would like to see more than a single picture before comparing it to the others.

Why would they intentionally choose for the first-ever-sneak-preview of the Enterprise to be a distorted photo?!?

    Agreed.

Every ship design that ever comes out in the future should be embraced enthusiastically, no matter what it looks like!

To do otherwise is heresy and treason.

So say us, the real Star Trek fans.

The first picture TV Guide ever showed one of the Enterprises - either the original or the D, was UPSIDE DOWN!

Ah yes, after opening my eyes (or more readjusting the contrast on my monitor) I recognise its mirrored Chekov with a photoshopped head, good work though!:)

Love the avatar. I have my doubts about the film... but am still anxious to see it.

Exactly. And to EW's blog site? That confuses me, too. Not the grand unveiling I expected.
Fisheye lens effect. OK, we'll chalk it up to that. Now, all you Photoshoppers out there, let's see who can get a picture on the boards that compensates for that distortion.

I voted for refit Enterprise. The camera loved it from every angle. Fisheye lens or not.

According to trekmovie.com, the trailer will show some glimpses of the Enterprise in action including going into warp and some brief battle scenes...so let's see if that changes your judgement!

Yeah, I'd thought at first that it was Chekov mirrored, but I spent a minute looking back and forth between your av and the original image, comparing the posture and the creases in the uniform fabric and worked out that it was McCoy, recolored and repositioned. Nice. :D

I think it was an attempt at humor, but not a very successful one.
