Your short list for The 11th Doctor

And yeah I stuck a woman in there, wanna make something of it?

Of all of them my ideal would be Rickman, I would love to see him play the Doctor.
Thanks for that picture list. I like googling as much as the next person but....:techman:

I wonder if there is as much of a chance of there being a black Doctor this time, as fandom seems to think there is.

There is alot of talk about it, like it might happen, and there is no good reason (I can think of) it shouldnt happen, im just not sure the BBC see it the same way as the fans seem to.

Anyone who thinks Hugh Grant would make a good Doctor needs to be banned from working in the TV industry as a precaution, or shot in the head if they already are.

As we all know, Hugh Grant did play the Doctor, and actually he was pretty good.

For the TWENTY MASSIVE SECONDS () he played him, in a tongue in cheek comedy sketch, as part of a long drawn out gag - he was ok.

God no not Kris Mashall!

Although the TARDIS would have a top notch broad band connection at least...

anyone else hear Terry Wogan say CiN will feature the new Doctor, the other night?

well it seems like a common error at the BBC

ENTERTAINMENT: Children in Need
On: BBC 1
Date: Friday 14th November 2008 (starting in 7 days)
Time: 20:00 to 21:00 (1 hour long)

Terry Wogan is joined by Tess Daly and Fearne Cotton for a spectacular night of music, fun and fundraising. It's surprises galore in store as our favourite TV stars join forces to 'Do Something Different' for this year's marathon charity appeal. The stars of the BBC's I'd Do Anything come together for an exclusive performance of Oliver, and the cast of the Bill do the jailhouse rock at Sun Hill in their tribute to the Blues Brothers. Terry and Tess go head to head in a Strictly Come Dancing spectacular and Children in Need viewers get an early introduction to the new Doctor in an exclusive sneak preview of the Doctor Who Christmas Special.
whilst I understand why its written like this (to promote discussion about IS he the 11th Doctor) I cant help but feel they shouldnt do it now its been announced offical Tennant is leaving, its just confusing things.

Most of my more recent ideas fall firmly into the 'too old' category. I think Tony Robinson could pull off a short, bewildered hyper-active Doctor rather well. And I can't help thinking Lenny Henry... both sadly, too well known. As is Richard Armitage, who would also make my shortlist.
