Did anyone catch Mike Singletary's post-game tirade against his players "We canNOT give them the game!". The man was always one of the msot intense ever on the field... and I wonder if he's going to be one of the most on a coaching staff as well. I hope he does well with the Niners, not that I care for the team. But I like Singletary. A intelligent class-act and also a hard-nosed intense player. My kind of guy!
There was some good discussion on Dan Patrick this evening, about whether Singletary did the right thing. At question is whether his approach will work at the professional level, given their egos and contracts and the like. Maybe with a ayoung team, but then what do you do when they become more veteran? I don't mind the calling out so much, though.
Sad not a bit of conversation about the MNF game. The only undefeated team in the league.

Weirdly, and for no apparent reason, there's a strong regional polarization in the NFL right now. All the best teams are in the Northeast or South. All the worst teams are in the Midwest or West. In fact, every single team in the Northeast has a winning record right now.
I do. If nothing else, he'll light a fire under the players he does have and I suspect he won't hesitate to bench someone else if he thinks they have a "me first, team second" attitude. If he doesn't get the permanent job in SF at the end of the season, I'm sure he'll get a look from some team. I also think he'd make one hell of a college coach.
Now THIS is what the 49ers need--a coach who's going to light the fire under their asses by baring his. If nothing else, hopefully the players will respond because they don't want to see his bare ass again. When his team hit the Candlestick Park locker room at halftime trailing the Seahawks 20-3, Singletary called everyone to attention, dropped his pants and pointed to his rear end, to fully illustrate what the coach thought of his players' performance.
