Which starship had the best "death?" Which had the greatest impact?
Another good one."Talyn...starburst!"
She took three with her actually. One solely from her guns, another after a collision, and the third post-mortem when part of her hull collided with another. The Pegasus in nuBSG had a pretty awesome death, taking out two Cylon Base Stars with it.
I tear up every time I watch that episode. No other ship death compares for me.Another good one."Talyn...starburst!"![]()
I always considered that to be more of a character death. Talyn was a sentient being who voluntarily sacrificed himself as his captain for the greater good. Definitely an emotional scene but I just can't bring it to classify him as a "starship." Even though he technically was."Talyn...starburst!"

True. I was only thinking of the two she took out at the very end.She took three with her actually. I can see that argument, but he was indeed a starship. Just like Moya. And Doctor Who's TARDIS (which appears to have some sentience). And Babylon 5's Shadow and Vorlon ships. And Futurama's Planet Express. And so on.I always considered that to be more of a character death. Talyn was a sentient being who voluntarily sacrificed himself as his captain for the greater good. The first thing I thought of when I read this thread title was the absolutely beautiful work done by the effects artists for "Starship Troopers". I LOVED that view of the massive warship cut open with all its decks exposed and crewmen flying out into space. Just epic and beautiful.
