The MST3K 20th Anniversary Edition Box Set

I just watched the Mystery Science Theater 3000 movie. I had forgotten how great this show is. I'll be picking up this box set (most likely during the next Deep Discount sale).

It sounds like the first printing, the one with fancy packaging and a Crow figurine, has sold out with preorders alone and there won't be any more. Fortunately Shout Factory is already planning to put out a less elaborate (and hopefully less expensive) version of the set in a couple weeks with just the episodes.

Which is great for me, actually. I just need the discs to replace the broadcast DVD-R copies I currently have for Werewolf, Laserblast and Future War.

Not First Spaceship on Venus though. That episode is just boring. Too bad they couldn't have picked a better season 2 episode. I like that season, just not "Venus".

BRING IT OUT FOR REGION 2 ALREADY!!!!

I should not be forced to buy this stuff in R1 format, rip it and burn it to a new DVD in regionless format just to watch a (admittedly damn fine) TV series!

Why do you not have a multi-region DVD player instead of going to all that trouble?

I got an email from Amazon telling me it will be delayed, I guess that means I won't get the fancy edition. Nuts.

I really like how much more effort Shout Factory seems to be putting into the DVDs than Rhino used to.

Well seeing as how many are sold out, i hope the standard edition comes out soon, cause I love those episodes.

I wish they'd sell figurines of Crow and Servo. With toy companies' obsession with variants, they could easily make black, "silhouette" versions of the robots as well.

I've all of these episodes on Bootleg. (And I like "Venus" it was the first episode I ever saw). Not sure if I'll re buy on this DVD set. I like have the individual episodes on individual discs. Makes it easer to line them up in sequence on the shelf. ;)

With the rumor that stores wont be able to place any more orders for the Limited Edition I went ahead and ordered a copy from Amazon earlier today.

I Love MST3K. That said, I've never felt the need to get the dvds. I watch it online.

Great show though, and a big part of my old high school years

They need to make a version of those silhouettes that is "to scale" with an average size TV so that you can put them in front of the screen and do your own riffs.

I'm glad that "Future War" is coming out on this set. I used to own the non-"MST3K" version on DVD. It's just a terrible film. I swear, it's just "The Terminator" but with dinosaurs!
