Re: The bridge shots
Start with the same design, increase the detail of the control panels, use materials that look like sturdier stuff than the old set (which was fiberglass, btw, not plywood; 'nother topic).
What they've done here is give us a lot of happy talk about how they were "respecting canon", while they were taking the original design ethic and chucking it out the window.
We've already seen what the Enterprise bridge looked like during the original series. We've seen what it looked like when Pike was in command.
What we've seen from JJ ain't even in the same hemisphere.
You're entitled to your own opinion. It doesn't make mine or anyone else's invalid or any less thought-out, however. I know, like, and respect the old designs as much as you do. The Pike-era bridge is my favorite out of all Trekdom. Yet somehow I'm still excited.Hate it. Hate everything about it. If they're gonna try and pass that off as the bridge of the Enterprise, they might as well go the next step and say that Lassie is a boa constrictor.
Open your eyes, people! The Emperor is walking around town bloody starkers!
Exactly how would you have had it look? What elements of the old bridge would you have kept, and what would you have updated?
