I think Daphne works the best with Ando. Hiro's too much of a kid. Daphne and Ando showed some chemistry together in last week's episode. Besides season one showed that Ando likes blondes.;)

When Ando finds out Nathan got to nail that hot internet stripper AND her twin sister, that'll cause him to snap and turn evil. :p

To be fair, Milo Ventimiglia was born with nerve damage on his lower face. There's a reason for that.

I like Adrian's face. He's got a gorgeous smile....and striking eyes with those long, long eyelashes. Must be that middle eastern daddy of his. He looks exotic.

So when are we going to find out Nathan was switched as a child and Scott Bakula is the real Nathan? :)

Yeah, I mean, we only met Daphne two episodes ago and already we learn she married Park-Man. I just can't accept that yet.

There is a four year gap there but I do think she hasa better chemistry with Hiro than she could ever have with Matt.

Hiro already had one lover on the show and Ando spent his time on internet porn with Nikki so I think Hiro is alittle more mature at times.

Yeah, I thought it was kind of weird to introduce Daphne into Hiro and Ando's story and then suddenly hook her up with Matt. Uh...wha?

Um ... but that was 4 years in the future ... so anything could happen in that time. The present day Matt, only knows of a person called Daphne who he could hook up with in some future.

Heck, we still don't know who she is working for.

^Yeah, that aspect of things doesn't bother me at all. We could meet a character for the first time in the future. (That hasn't happened yet, has it?)

not much into the daphne-parkman pairing.

That couple was weird. Matt's a cop she is a criminal. Is she supposed to be his catwoman or something? Dahne's a spunky blonde which seems more like Ando's type. If Daphne and Matt even meet this season I hope the farthest the relastionship goes is that they become friends after working on a common goal. Husband and Wife seems too fanfic.
Is Parkman's other ability to be "Mr. Mom" every season?

I mean seriuosly, is there any other point to his character than to be the stay at home loser every season?

But the real issue is that people tune in to watch certain characters: Peter, Hiro, Sylar and Claire being prominent fan-favorites. Kring et al aren't going to screw themselves over by killing off the reasons why people watch the show.
Writers seem to think this, but it's not entirely correct. I know you didn't like The Wire - even though it is by far the Greatest Best Television Show God has given Man on the Face of the Earth - but there were several characters who were central to season 1 that did not make it past season 3. These weren't characters that fans didn't care about, either. That show managed to survive to 5 seasons. LOST also comes to mind, although there characters can come back in some capacity after getting offed.

Heroes reluctance to write any popular characters off the show frustrates me. They kill Nikki, but give her another twin. Syler 'dies' but reemerges in the tropics minus powers. Mr Bennett gets shot, but is healed by Claire's blood. Even Linderman is back! It kills all the cliffhangers, since I just assume whatever bad thing that happened will ultimately be reversed. There need to be major consequences and thus far there really haven't been any.

The interesting thing is in early interviews (posted here as some will recall), and a Heroes panel I went to in LA during Season 1, Kring strongly suggested for Season 2 they were going to use an entirely different set of heroes/cast once the "original" heroes stories were told, with just a bit of overlap between the two. Over time, obviously, he backed off of this idea, afraid to mess with the formula.

ETA input on the thread's most important question: I thought it was "booboo" as in what kids call their injuries. Much funnier that way in any case.

That's an interesting question. If you could only keep five characters (they have to be regulars or strong semi regulars) with Kring filling in the cast with new characters--which five would you keep?

I'd keep Angela, Noah, Nathan, Tracy, and Sylar. Dump all the rest. Okay, the Haitian could come back as an occasional guest star. You can also pick an occasional guest star character.

I don't dislike The Wire, it just didn't grab me. I'll try it again someday. But given the ratings on that show, it's not really parallel to a show on regular broadcast that is expected to grab a much larger audience than is ever expected on premium cable. When your audience is paying to watch, you can afford to cater to a much smaller number of people. But if you need a larger audience because one pair of ad-watching eyeballs isn't worth all that much, you have to do the crowd-pleasing things.

So, here's a speculation that recently occurred to me: now that we know the specials may have gotten that way via genetic manipulation, doesn't it seem likely that the Petrellis were deliberately trying to create a power-sponge who would be the "ultimate hero" and Gabriel was the first attempt, which went horribly awry, so they tried again more successfully with Peter?

Wow, imagine when Sylar finds out from Ma Petrelli: "Well, Gabe, you came out screwed up so we tossed you out with the trash. But Perfect Peter, him we kept." :rommie: I'm sure he'll take it with maturity and calm.

Booboo or boohoo, here's something else I remembered: it was in either the first episode or one of the very early ones where Mohinder searches Sylar's apartment and finds the secret room with FORGIVE ME scrawled in red paint or possibly blood. So why is the "boohoo" such a surprise if the very first thing we learned of Sylar was that he was remorseful?

Based on that message, I expected him to be a lot more conflicted than what we've seen from him to date. Future-Gabriel matches up with the guy who wrote that message much better than Sylar as he was presented in S2. So this isn't a retcon so much as just writers trying to get a handle on the character at long last.

Angela, Nathan, Peter, Sylar and Matt. The first four because the Petrelli Family Circus is too good to lose - tho I'd hate to lose Claire - and Matt because I still think he's got interesting potential if they'd get to his story and move it forward at more than a tortoise-pace.

I agree, except I would toss Gabriel for Noah. But the Petrelli's are the closest thing this show has to a central focal point and they're situated in the power structure such that their carryover from season to season would be fairly easy and still allow for any number of new characters to move into play.

I hear you about Matt. I like Matt, but the writers seem determined to strand him with the dull Mr. Mom, stuck in Siberia Africa plots. I'd keep Matt over Claire if the choice was between the two.

I like Peter, but they're making him sooooo dumb and straining the brothers' relationship almost to the point of no return. That's why I'd choose Sylar over Peter at this point. For me, Angela, Nathan, and Noah are the absolute must keeps. My other two are more malleable choices.

So now we are up to choosing and chucking characters? At this point, I nominate Hiro and Ando for a fast trip outta here-their storylines are soooooo boring. And I hope they either make Mohendar into the Fly quickly or kill him off. As for Peter-a sudden rush of brains to the head would be nice.

Barry Allen - dead and back
Oliver Queen - dead and back
Hal Jordan - dead and back
Jason Todd(Robin II) - dead and back
Arthur (Orin) Curry - its DC, he'll be back
John Jones - its coming, its DC afterall

Yeah, Tim Kring follows his comic book path of storytelling very true to form.

Yeah, I know, but it was still kind of a jarring change, especially for a character who we know next to nothing about.

That and I agree with those who say she had good chemistry with Ando, so I was surprised to see her with Matt in the future. But it's not really a big deal.

Of the three they promised never to do - Jason Todd, Bucky Barnes and Gwen Stacy, two have been done and most fans wish they'd just brought back the third instead of inflicting Sins Past upon us.
