Which begs the question, actually...will Claire develop the same ability?

Obviously, when her birthmom had her locked in that room with the fire, Claire was having trouble breathing because the fire was eating up all the air. But her mom didn't even break a sweat.
Remember her mom mentioned "waterboarding"?

It's a form of torture where you think you're drowning but you're not. Her mom was using the same technique by heating up the walls and air around Claire to make her "think" she was loosing air but really wasn't. She psyched Claire out because it was only in her mind that she couldn't breathe.

Well, yes and no. She definitely psyched her out, but waterboarding is not entirely psychological. Of course they were losing air. That's what fire does.

Have you been reading any JLA comics lately? You'll find that even though he's officially on the JLA roster, he hardly ever actually appears in a story, and when he does, they either really thought about using him, or he's an idiot and everyone who reads it is wondering; "Huh, if the Superman of the previous issue of his own comic was here, he'd have wrapped this problem up in no time, what gives?"

That's exactly because Superman too, has become a story-destroying character. He's too ridiculously overpowered and unhurtable, and worse yet, after Birne powered him down to more manageable levels, they went and powered him back up recently.

I've been reading Superman for 20 years off and on, and there's no indication to me that he's back to the pre-Crisis planet juggling form. He still gets his butt handed to him. It's only through some ingenuity, either his own or his JLA teamates, that he resolves a problem.

Sorry for the thread hijack.

Seeing as Sylar went nuclear today, it would seem that the speculation that he had lost all powers but intuitive aptitude and telekinesis is unture.

Four years in the future. There is absolutely no reason why he couldn't have absorbed those powers again from other mutants, they are not one of a kind.

Whether he's fully to his planet-juggling form or not, doesn't really matter. They made him more powerful, but even before they made more powerful, he was still powerful enough that if he used his powers right, or was allowed to use them fully as he uses them in his own book, most threats the JLA faces would be dealt with by him in no time at all.

Hence, why they keep him out of the book most of the time, with the idea he's off facing his own threats.

I don't recall anything in this episode that proved otherwise. I'm still waiting to see where they go with it.

What dya want, a DNA test? :D
Just some further clarification/explanation. Angela's alleged maternity of Sylar has barely been referenced. We still have plenty of reason to maintain doubt.

I think we may be due for some answers, judging by next week's promo. Based upon a spoiler that I stumbled upon somewhere for this season...
it looks like Papa Patrelli is going to be around, so I'm sure he'll have something to do with the Sylar matter.

That is true ... but there will be another new character that will be seen in the next episode.
With Arthur Petrelli - another Heroes dad will be seen with him (and it's not Maury who is in the episode)

In the context 3D Master was using... yeah, no. Just read through every post he uses it and it's pretty damn clear he was looking for "boohoo."

not much into the daphne-parkman pairing.

I like the unexpected turn of events with sylar/gabriel

"bad claire" seems a little forced I think they exceeded panatierre's range a bit with that characterization

Yeah, they don't make a lot of sense as a couple. They don't look good together, Daphne's personality is not compatible in the slightest, and Parkman should easily be able to see past any cover story she tries to throw his way. The only reason I can see him being with her is because of the paintings, which makes it a self-fulfilling prophecy thing, which is just lame in this context.

I think the writer's took the story into the future way too early. They needed to set things up a bit better so that these characterizations would make more sense. Much like how they did it in the first season.

Sure, they need to pick up the pace but... they're overcompensating in a bad, bad way. I just wish it wasn't so transparent how they're trying to return to the status quo of the first season. They're bringing back all the powers they had then (even after it seemed they figured out that painting-the-future was a crutch for the writing, not a boon), they're shoehorning characters into roles that don't feel natural or plausible, and they're retreading stuff they've already used on top of it all.

If I had faith in them, I'd be okay with them trying to retool the show so that they had something better to work with. But... I haven't really seen anything to give me faith in that in the slightest.

That couple was weird. Matt's a cop she is a criminal. Is she supposed to be his catwoman or something? Dahne's a spunky blonde which seems more like Ando's type. If Daphne and Matt even meet this season I hope the farthest the relastionship goes is that they become friends after working on a common goal. Husband and Wife seems too fanfic.

Yeah, I mean, we only met Daphne two episodes ago and already we learn she married Park-Man. I just can't accept that yet.

There is a four year gap there but I do think she hasa better chemistry with Hiro than she could ever have with Matt.

Remember in 4 years a lot of things can happen. There is a sneak preview for next week with daphne on heroeswiki.

I think Daphne works the best with Ando. Hiro's too much of a kid. Daphne and Ando showed some chemistry together in last week's episode. Besides season one showed that Ando likes blondes.;)

Yeah, I thought it was kind of weird to introduce Daphne into Hiro and Ando's story and then suddenly hook her up with Matt. Uh...wha?
