According to www.ainitcool.com

"What was The Boy Wonder up to before he hooked up with Bruce Wayne?

New "Smallville" showrunners Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson are teaming with producer McG ("Chuck," "Supernatural") for "The Graysons."

Presumably Dick Grayson and his parents get into all sorts of adventures when they're not swinging on the trapeze.
It's thought to be a possible replacement for "Smallville" should its eighth season prove its last. "

From www.variety.com

"The Graysons" is seen as a potential replacement for "Smallville" should that show end its run this season, which has been speculated. Should "Smallville" return next year, "The Graysons" might also make a strong companion piece.

CW insiders said they also see the "Graysons" development as a validating gesture by Warner Bros. that the company is still behind its 50% investment in the netlet, particularly following this fall’s strong openings for "Gossip Girl" and newbie "90210." They believe the studio wouldn’t risk bringing one of its prized franchises to CW if it believed the net was in dire straits.
In the one-hour "Graysons," which will be set in modern times, young DJ will face challenges involving first loves, young rivals and his family as he grows up. Souders and Peterson have come up with an original take on the character."

I've always thought it would be neat so see the Flying Graysons on Smallville, but I'm not quite sure how this concept could support a series.

Oh yeesh... those teen girls just better be hot brunettes if they expect me to be minimally interested.

And they couldn't just do a Nightwing series instead, or did Birds Of Prey leave that sour a taste in their mouths? :wtf:

Great another Gotham City show without Batman. Didn't they already look their lesson with Birds of Prey? :wtf:

Who thought this was a good idea? A series about Dick Grayson before he was Robin is like a series about Peter Parker before he got bit by that spider. I'm guessing Warner Brothers would let them do one about Bruce before he was Batman.

As long as the Batman movies keep coming out no live action Batman on tv.

Ugh, Hulk smash puny DC Universe! Let me guess, Robin will be played by some teenage girl friendly 25 year old who's just "dreamy".

But isn't Dick pretty young when his parents die and he becomes Robin? I don't think it would make sense to have a guy in his twenties playing Dick before he's even Robin.

Sounds craptacular! Lemme guess... Teenaged angst, loads of hot "teens" who are actually 35 and really bad writing and stupid emo songs about pining for the one he can't have because of his "secret" that everyone knows about. I suppose my only comfort will be knowing it will never get as good ratings as dancing with the fucking stars!:scream:

Fuck CW or whatever the hell they are calling it this week!

Also, considering the way tv shows usually stick around one place, would they be in a circus that never travels? Or goes to very similar looking towns?

Did it make sense to have a guy in his twenties playing a teenaged Clark Kent ?

I just wish they'd quit relying on a cheap gimmick (ie, the use of superheroes) to tell their angsty teen drama trash. I know it obviously works, but... sheesh. They've already pretty much destroyed anything remotely cool about Superman's early years with Smallville. But that description for the Graysons? It doesn't even sound like anything but angsty teen drama trash.
