THE FORCE UNLEASHED - discussion

I am a bit confused, but is the only way to unlock the achievements for beating the difficulties is by starting a new game? I really don't want to Sith Lord starting with no powers and I am unclear on the subject.

It seems to be. I did a little googling before starting a new game myself, and every reference I could find suggested that New Game+ wouldn't get you any achievements for beating different difficulty levels, because you'd have to change the difficulty during the game. You only get the achievement if you play through an entire game without changing the difficulty.

Black lightsabers are dumb anyway. I wasn't surprised when I found out one was going to be in TFU. Everything about the game screamed "kewl fanboi wankfest" from the very beginning. Of course, that hasn't stopped me from playing. :p

A silver one would have been cool. the Gold is pointless with the other colors there.

Seriously! We've seen silver and bronze lightsabers in the EU. They put them in KotOR II, even. So I was surprised to see a gold lightsaber in TFU but not silver or bronze.

I might try the cheat that unlocks all the force powers and start a new game. See if that works.

LATE EDIT: Okay, I beat the game of warrior. I did change the difficulty down from Master as I was having some trouble on the third boss on that difficulty. However, I still got the achievements for beating it on Warrior, so shifting down doesn't mess it up too much.

Trying to bring down the Star Destroyer now. UGH. Frustrating.

Took me 30 minutes to get it down. I'm talkin 30 minutes of the same life, killing at least 8 waves of Tie Fighters. I took my that long in a single try to actually get it to come down.

Well, in 7 hours of playing (over one day) my son has beat the ds version

Now he's gotta beat it the other way to get the other robes :p

I had read briefly about it before I did it: you don't need to move the sticks up and down, just hold them down and it will work much faster.

I brought it down finally too, GAWD what a P.I.T.A.!!

The Tie fighters were a piece of cake to kill Just jump and lightning but they would come back too quick.

Just beat it on the Wii. Have to admit, I was a little disappointed I didn't get to take down a Star Destroyer in this version. :( Honestly, I liked the story a lot but the game was buggy and left a lot to be desired, but still, glad I played it.

I read in several places that the Wii version is lacking more content than the Xbox 360/PS3 versions.

I pre-ordered this for the PS3 but canceled it. I might get it eventually but I heard there might be a PC version (despite the nonsense about the PC not being able to handle a game the Wii can) which I'd prefer.

I'm not a huge fan of jumping from area to area, It's just soooo fun getting within 10 feet of an object and falling.
This is what's irritating me right now. After defeating the first Junk Titan on Raxus Prime and bringing down the makeshift bridge, I keep falling to my death whenever I try to jump down to the bridge.
That fucking bridge is making me want to break the CD in half!:scream:

 wait it gets better....

I had to wuss out and change the difficulty for the end of the game, so I'll start my next playthrough tonight if I've nothing else to do. I like how you retain everything, points, levels, crystals, outfits. Now i'll go on the hunt for all the crystals.

Make sure you get all the cubes in the death star, that's where the black saber crystal is and Cool jedi robes are.

Btw, Crashdown makes an awesome Starkiller

I'm playing on the hardest level as well.

May I make a few hack and slash suggestions?

Conan The Barbarian was a lot of fun.
Viking: Battle for Asgard was pretty good.
You can get both at around $20.00 each

And after playing the demo for Ninja Gaiden II, I plan on picking that one up.

I was not originally a fan of these types of game but they are really growing on me.
Have fun!

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definately be picking up Ninja Gaiden, the version for Xbox was one of my favorite games for the console, Top 20 easy. Game was hard as hell, but packed with awesome.

Wow! Just found out that GameRush (BlockBuster games) is selling Ninja Gaiden II new for $29.99

I have confirmed it for my area and will be getting Circuit City to price match it.
With their 110% price match guarantee and my 10% off gamer card I should get it for less than $25.00....Sweet!

Holy crap, I finally beat that god-forsaken level.

I actually didn't have a problem with the boss, though.

What the fuck is up with this "bring down the star destroyer" crap?

I'm playing this fucking game on novice, and I've tried to get this thing down about 10 times. This last try, I was just about to bring it down (like within the next 2 seconds) when the TIE fighters blew me up.

I'm so annoyed.

That part took me forever, too. And from what I've been reading it seems a lot of people have had trouble with it.

I'm slowly but surely making my way through the game again to collect all the holocrons and achievements I'd missed in my first playthrough. I'm sad to say that the game has quickly become boring for me. Hack-and-slash games can only stay interesting for so long.
