Sex with HOLOGRAMS

After you are done making love to a holodeck character, what happens to the "residual matter" when you turn the program off? Does it just fall onto the floor or is it re-absorbed into the holo-matrix?

Did Rom have a salary? I don't know what the value of that position would be? I remember Quark speaking of cleaning up after Klingons, mostly physical damage I'd think, but this still sounds like a "hit the refresh button" moment.

Although this particular fluid is often singled out for its humorous potential, we have to remember that the holodeck must regularly create and uncreate all sorts of substances in order to maintain the illusions. There must be sweat on the holocharacters to make them real to the touch; there must be all sorts of chemicals created to provide or simulate the scents necessary to the simulation. And what happens to sperm is nowhere as important as the practical question of where vaginal lubrication comes from.

Clearly, the holodeck during the course of an average simulation is extremely busy inserting and removing all sorts of stored or replicated chemicals and substances. Taking care of a few droplets of sperm shouldn't be an issue at all, then.

Where would the...ahem....you know....juice....go?

You'd have to hose those holosuites down afterwards...

lol there would be a pool of white goo on the floor when you have finished and ended the program lol poor quark will have to clean it up lol

I wonder how much the average jizz-mopper makes per hour in the 24th century?

There would be no need for cleaning.
The computer monitors all sex activity and automatically beams all fluids into space :p

Starfleet protocol 11876-D, all ships in the vicinity of DS9 must have windscreen wipers installed...

No here's a question, since shagging a hologram is essentially jerking off, would the characters experiment, try something beyond their usual proclivities as long as it isn't real. Would more straight people be bi-curious and so on?

I guess it would depend greatly on the person, in a manner analogous to how people forced to stand next to a diverse porn magazine stand by external circumstance will either "expand their views" or steadfastly hold to their original preferences. Or how people deal with the great diversity of sexual issues on offer through internet.

On the whole, though, I'd think holodecks would greatly stimulate people's imaginations and broaden their views, and not just on sex habits; this can already be observed in internet use. That is, unless there was a very strong element of exposure and public condemnation involved. Internet is usually extremely private today, while the holodecks we see seem very public - Starfleet heroes never manage to, or bother to, lock them against intrusion, and even at Quark's it is not uncommon for people to intrude in a simulation with relatively little effort, or for the noises from inside a holosuite to carry down to the bar.

A sage observation. :D
