A biggie. If Lincecum wins, I`ll be happy cause I`m a huge fan but I think the playoffs will push Santana over the edge.
Yesterday was a bittersweat day in Metland. Billy Wagner is out for this year and next year and needs Tommy John Surgery. I guess the baseball gods really do want us to sign Krod. May Mr. Met smile upon Krod and protect him for the rest of this season while Omar gets the checkbook ready.
Billy may not have been my favorite Met but it always sucks losing somebody to injury and it looks like Billy`s last game as a Met was a blown save. Hopefully Luis Ayala and the rest of the pen could hold things down till Krod next year.
I really think that you're overestimating the impact of the playoffs.
The Playoffs didn't give Chris Carpenter the edge over Webb in '06, and the Cardinals won the World Series that year.
No one is going to give the Cy Young award to a guy with six fewer wins than the league leader when one other dude beats him in all three major stats.
I'm sorry, there isn't really ANY chance that Santana is in the running at this point.
Hell, C.C. Sabathia has a bigger chance of winning the Cy Young than Santana, and he has only been in the league for half a season.
