At this rate, by the time it comes out in stores, we'll be able to read it all online for free!

Well, it's a big, complex story, with lots of different things going on. We just thought that releasing a block of consecutive chapters would clear up some misconceptions about the project and give people a better sense of its actual scope.

For those of us that do like reading eBooks, will the eBook editions actually be out on time? This is too big a project (IMHO) to be late again.

1) I'm not the editor of the eBooks, and never was. I was the editor of the line of original eBooks, but that line no longer exists.

2) Even then, I had no say over it. That's a production matter, not an editorial one.

One can deduce that since Keith said that "nobody posting on this board [has control over that]". And he himself does indeed post here, that he does NOT have control over that.

And not to mention Keith didn't edit this project...

One can deduce that since Keith said that "nobody posting on this board [has control over that]". And he himself does indeed post here, that he does NOT have control over that.

Back then, people had to be tied to a computer in order to read eBooks or they had to read on tiny screens on their PDA/cell phones. Now we have 6" eink screens on devices that are uite nice for porting around eBooks. So it is no wonder eBooks have teken off more now then they did before.

I do think that if the CoE series was to come back, they would sll more. Epseiclaly if the pBook reprints were stopped. Part of the eBook problem is that we know that someday they will be released on paper. So those that want the books but not as an eBook wiull just wait. If there were no reprints, then I do think the sales would have increased for the eBooks.

As for the Destiny Trilogy, more eBooks would sell there too if the eBook came out on time.

I don't think the proportion of people who so desperately crave their S.C.E. fix that they would make the switch to electronic formats is greater than those who would just shrug and stop buying it. No point in killing your profits just to promote a format. That said, I'd actually be curious to know whether any given story has sold more per unit electronically or within the compilation.

As for the Destiny Trilogy, more eBooks would sell there too if the eBook came out on time.

Now that's certainly true. You'd think with most manuscripts being electronic, it would be quicker to get the formatting done for the e-book than the physical copy. Just a question of priorities for the publisher, I suppose.

Perhaps priorities, perhaps meeting deadlines. Other Pocket books (including the most recent Warcraft and Hellgate: London novels, which I believe were both edited by Marco) managed to have their ebooks released on the announced dates.

Yep... under a rock called "World of Warcraft" LOL

I haven't been reading much in the past 6-8 months, really. I picked up Resistance at the book store over the weekend and started reading it, which has peaked my interests again. Hopefully I can stay current on this site this time. (I posted here a couple of years ago, but apparently they purged all those posts)

Man, I hope we see this in the stores soon. I just read the Unreality interview with Mack, and hearing about the themes that'll be explored in the books is getting me all excited again.

I mean, damn... this all looks like stuff I could really sink my teeth into, and the theme for the first book especially I always love seeing explored.

Bring it on, Mack! These next few weeks are going to feel very long.
