ha ha, just trying to imagine Dr Who if Tennant, Piper and Barrowman all used their natural accents- two Scottish blokes and a posh bird! 
(ACtually there's a BBC3 sitcom in there)
And yes I realise that Barrowman's American accent is one of his two natural accents- just funnier my way!!!)

Why not just put Billie Piper ("posh" accent intact) in the new Rab C Nesbitt special instead?
To my American ears I can't tell the difference from her tv accent and real one.
Didn't have a problem at all with the slight changes in her looks and accent.

This could easily explain a shift in Dialect, and other changes in Rose's general manner.

She seems to be hoping to make it in America. And there seems to be something about teeth when it comes to working there, there seems to be plenty of stories about TV/music stars being told by agents in the US that they need to do something with their teeth to make it in the USThough to be honest, I didn't notice anything really "wrong" with Billie's oral situation pre-veneer. Why wasn't I consulted??
I think there's some truth to that. There are sometimes different... standards of attractiveness on American TV vs. British TV, I think. There have been a few instances on Doctor Who ("Army of Ghosts"/"Doomsday" springs immediately to mind) where there will be this montage of news footage and one of the news anchors, I think, is supposed to be an American one. Yet she's wearing less make-up than a blind nun in a secluded convent. I'm not judging here. I'm merely pointing out, as someone familiar with American news broadcasts, that no American network would ever let an anchor go on the air with such gigantic bags under her eyes.
However, as a discerning American male, I never noticed anything particularly wrong with her teeth. Now, the woman who desperately needs dental/orthodontic work is the actress playing Gwen Cooper on Torchwood. My god!
Me neither. (Of course, when I first watched "New Earth," I didn't even know what a "chav" was.)
I can hear a difference, but I would be ill-equipped to articulate what the difference is. I know that at least part of the difference is that Piper enunciates her words more clearly than Rose does.
whats funny is that I was born in farmsworth england but left when I was two. I guess it's been too long to tell the difference
I noticed her toothiness in "Turn Left" but thought maybe she had just lost weight, and a thinner face accentuated her teeth.
They actually put fake teeth in to approximate her previous bite?
WTF, don't they have dentists in the alternate universe? Who is to say she didn't get her overbite fixed since the Doctor saw her last? Why make such a pretty girl look like a freaking mule for continuity's sake?

If that was their plan, it sure didn't work too well, otherwise the difference in her teeth and voith wouldn't have been so glaringly obvious. Thank goodness it wasn't as bad in the last 2 episodes.
wow ok i guess i wasn't the only one who thought something was odd about her teeth. i thought, "hmmm i don't remember her overbite being that prominent." then the way she spoke just kind of irked me. so i could tell something was off with her but i didn't figure she was wearing fake bucktooth. i mean come on, why did they have to do that? are there no dentists in that other universe that she could have gone to? they were rich after all. she could have had it done and could have been one of those nice comedic exchange between her and the doc. makes it more personal that he noticed. ah well.
That actually would've been a good opportunity for a joke.
Doctor: So, Rose, what are you doing here? Wait a minute... new teeth?
Rose: That's weird.
^ Ha! Now something like that would have been great! 
Although... I'm not sure why Rose would say her own new dental work would be weird. Maybe Rose could confirm the new teeth, and then the Doctor could say "That's weird," followed by "Weird? What d'you mean weird?" followed by the Doctor making a lame attempt to wiggle out of it.
