Weir in "Sunday"

Sigh. I'm watching "Sunday" and I just realized Dr. Weir was an idiot not to get involved with that fantastic guy who asked her to lunch.

He was adorable and did we ever even see him again? I don't think so. Which is too bad!

I think he would have been a great addition to the show, even in just a recurring role as her love interest. It would have helped round her out as a complete person (yes, even in a sci fi show) who can love someone even if she does have one of the coolest jobs in the Pegasus Galaxy.

Really? I have no idea what Kenny Loggins is like, so I guess I'm going to have to miss your point.

What I liked about the guy is his confidence and his sense of humor.

OK. That's true. But my point was that I would like to have seen him again. I like him.

The bad guy from Timecop was a different actor. And was sleazy.
I think it's kind of odd that this guy pops up as a prospective romantic interest for Weir and (to my recollection) is never seen again.

Well, I suppose it didn't help all that much that they canned Torri shortly after S4 began...

We could go over how boneheaded that decision was all day, and I didn't even find Weir to be that compelling of a character (especially post-season one).

Mostly it gives us set-up for our characters to grieve about Carson (they don't). It gives Weir time to think about her personal life (she doesn't, and is soon off the show). It gives us hints about Shep's past with his ex-wife (which is used later, but hardly in a memorable episode). It humanizes Lorne a little bit (but he immediately goes back to being a tough cipher of a character).

It's a wonderful little character episode--definitely one of the best in season three--but it is rendered almost lifeless by a negligent lack of follow-up in later episodes.

That's just my two cents, though.

^Lorne isn't so tough, really. There have been a few instances where he's shown a friendlier side - his little chat with Teyla for instance in "Spoils of War".

That was a nice bit, although my enthusiasm was immediately tempered due to it being a scene with Rachel Lutrell. Her acting and the character of Teyla just don't interest me.
