Star Trek Online and Trek Lit

^ Conquest.

There have been hundreds of Trek Games. I recommend:

1.) Bridge Commander
2.) Armada
3.) Elite Force 1&2 (The Expansion Pack to the first allows you to explore the Voyager and adds Jeri Ryan to the game)
4.) Starfleet Command
5.) Away Team

(Looks like I was beat to the Conquest thing).

there was a sorta Trek online game a few years ago that also had Q but the name of it escapes me.

John de Lancie also played Q in "ST: The Game Show" (or similar name) computer game.

He also dressed as a Q Borg for "Borg Q-uest: The Interactive Video Board Game", a follow-up to the "Klingon Challenge" version, both of which featured footage filmed on the TNG sets. "Borg Q-uest" was canceled before release, but its footage was probably recycled into "ST: Borg".

Star Trek 25th Anniversary and Star Trek: Judgement Rites are old old old but total classics of the genre (point and click adventures)

The only Trek game I was any good at was that really old one where you were in a rectangular galaxy with rectangular sectors and had to navigate and aim weapons by typing in the coordinates. That was one of the first computer games every invented, and it had many variations over the years.

I couldn't get anywhere in the 25th Anniversary game until I found a cheat sheet online. Even so, to this day I've still never finished it. And I was totally lost on The Kobayashi Alternative. I'm not very good with computer games.

I have to say at least w/ this new company taking over, they kept the same elements from the previous company. I am thinking of playing it myself once its finally online for sure. Love the designs of all the starships. It's an interesting evolution of the pass starships we have seen on screen and etc.

Well apparently they kept only a few of the design elements. Other than that nothing else was transferred over. The rest has been built up from scratch.

Armada II was better the 1 and Starfleet Command III was a huge improvement over the 1st 2. I never played Away Team(anyone have a copy the wanna get rid of? though it's played in the style of the X-Com games (RTS)....

Unfourtantly, Trek games aren't as popular as Star Wars games which is a shame because there are many possabilites for a Trek game and the last few console games, Shattererd Universe and Legacy weren't exactly bestsellers but given the right developers, it can be the blockbuster game it has the potential to be. (Not counting STO).

I dont know if it will help, but I sent a message to "Kestral", STO's lead writer with some links to Keiths Blog and Star Trek website.

I also pointed to the psiphi.org website that has all the authors sites listed.

Anyone else want me to PM them on their behalf?

Thanks.

I'm a huge fan of both of the Elite Foce games myself. The first one is Voyager, and the second one takes the same group of main characters and moves them onto a post Nemisis Enterprise-E. The first game has the most of the Voyager main cast (Jeri Ryan doesn't do Seven) and the second has Patrick Stewart, Tim Russ, and Dwight Schultz, along with a bunch of recurring Trek guest stars like Martha Hacket, JG Hertzler, and Jeffrey Combs all playing new characters.

Yeah, Elite Force was great, had a real blast playing that. I seem to recall it being over too fast, until I realized it was because the action moved at such a great clip and I had been playing it virtually non-stop. :)

DS9: The Fallen was really good too.

I keep waiting for the one Great Trek game to come out, but sadly I'm not sure it ever will. The problem is, for me, Trek has never been about the fighting and the battles, but about the exploration, the people, and the stories. I think the closest a game got to capturing the feel of Star Trek was the ST: 25th Anniversary and ST: Judgement Rites games. While these had a combat element, it wasn't nearly the most important element in the game. Games like Elite Force, while admittedly a blast, were just excuses to get you shooting phasers on starships.

Isn't that the truth. A friend of mine works at the video store and I rented their copy of Legacy recently. He said it was the first time the computer had recorded someone renting it.
