Linda Hamilton back for new TERMINATOR trilogy?? Rumor Mill

^ She's pretty good at it and Headey has said in interviews that the studio gave her an ultimatum to hit the gym or else. Rumor has it they're losing a main cast member this season though.

We are dealing with a franchise whose base plot line revolves around travelling through time and changing events in the past at multiple points with the express intention of altering the future. Therefore all the events of the previous films don't have to be ignored to be changed - another time travel event altered those events.

^Funny, when they suggested that might be the case whenever Enterprise (with it's Temporal Cold War and the plot point that various factions were altering history to suit themselves) made the occasional minor continuity goof everyone complained.

Well, that's because of that whole "base plot" thing he mentioned... sheesh, get with the picture! ;)

^ They didn't say. There were pics of her on set and she looked like she was dressed in a military uniform, but the article has been taken down.

A bit more from ArnoldFans.com

Its not Variety but hey its fodder for now.
For those of you who were concerned that Lena Headey might be in the Polaroid photo instead of Linda Hamilton, have no fears. When speaking to some people behind the scenes of the film during Comic Con, we were told "Linda is the only way to go to honor the original Terminator films and to tie our films together. We're big fans of The Sarah Connor Chronicles but we're either going with Linda or shooting the actors holding a picture. The audience is smart enough to realize what they are looking at. We just need to contact Linda still."
This quote is over two weeks old now and from what we have heard, Linda has been contacted since then with rumors of her coming back to star in the new film. This is in fact just a rumor as we just got off the phone with Linda Hamilton's agent on Monday, August 11th. The original Sarah Connor star has not been contacted at all for any "Terminator Salvation" offers nor for her rights of her Polaroid to be used in the film. We even asked if Hamilton was contacted to lend her voice for narration. I think it's safe to say Linda will NOT be back. Sarah Connor only lives on through her son, John.
Linda's agent told us it was her belief that Hamilton would need to be paid by WB but the film company has not yet contacted them. "I can't give an answer and until we're approached, we have no idea," she told us before asking us many questions about where all of these rumors came from. Nothing but a rumor.

Not surprised. I knew that the photo would come into play in the film and they need approval for her to be in the picture.

I haven't seen her in anything for awhile. What's she been doing? A flashback scene with her in the film would be cool.

I remember reading somewhere that she's semi-retired now. I know that when she was asked about reprising Sarah Connor for Terminator 3 that she said she felt the Terminator story ended with T2 and that she wouldn't be a part of any more of them.

She has reason to be bitter. The man she met on set and later married cheated on her (Jim Cameron divorced her after meeting a woman on the set of Titanic) and she's deaf in one ear - I believe the left - because of a mishap on the set of T2.
