Just finished MASS Effect

I can't get past the assassins. I've given up. Barely got past the start. Waste of money.

How I knew that was coming :p if you mean the assassins near Chora Den then just use wallcover and timing...also make sure you tell your squad to cover as well.

I don't see the point in making games that only dedicated gamesters can enjoy. I'm an old lady, I prefer a bit of problem solving instead of having to shoot faster than the sprites.

^ Then may I ask why did you buy Mass Effect knowing it had elements of FPS in it ?

I don't mind FPS. Bioshock was fab.

I'll try your suggestions and let you know what happens. Thanks.

I had problems with it first time as a soldier though that was just after I left the citadel for 1st time. I tried again with Vangaurd and found it much better and this was the 1st RPG game I liked.

God forbid them to actually provide a bit of a challenge.

Also, erm, you can't please everyone. Mass Effect isn't a particularly hard RPG, but there's no point in making it too easy, otherwise what's the point? Without challenging gameplay, you're essentially just running around to trigger cutscenes. There's no meat to the game that way, you might as well watch a film.

tbh, most of the difficulty I found in Mass Effect was in fighting against the bugs and glitches. It's difficult to beat a boss battle when your char gets stuck on a banister.

The thing people also need to remember when delving into RPGs (even accessable ones like this) is that you usually need to level up a bit and get some decent equipment before you can go around twatting everyone willy nilly.

Agreed, I only died a handful of times but a few number of bugs became more of a challenge at times. The one with Benzena was the worst because I found out on my game if she hit you with her first attack you would become stuck to the floor or stairs (took 3 times before I realise it was more than a random bug) :p

Bioshock was fab.
I think we've found the problem.

You only like games that have no consequences for death.

Bioshock is about as challenging as crossing the road. Only if you get hit by a car, you just end up back at the kerb where you started. Healthier.

Are you sneering because it takes a bit longer for Mass Effect to reload after the character gets killed? For what it's worth I never used the regeneration chambers in Bioshock because they were a waste of time. Does that reduce the curl in your lip?

I'd prefer it if Mass Effect had an "autoplay" function and paused merely for conversations/decisions, like a Choose Your Own Adventure novel. I'd probably have finished it by now if that were the case. ;)

< Not much of an RPG fan.

Jesus fucking Christ, what the hell would be the point in a GAME that you don't PLAY.

I despair at the casual gaming movement, I really do.

Look, sorry, I don't mean any offense, but I'm genuinely flabbergasted. You might as well watch a film, or (like you say) read a Choose Your Own Adventure novel. Or play MGS4.

Please tell me you're taking the piss. Please?

Well documented? Don't think I've ever talked about them.

And you're right, I am prejudiced against Chocobo Races.
