There are some theatres that are showing it already to employees and limited numbers of guests. A friend invited me to see it with him on Sunday night (he has a Masters in Education but still works at a theatre ) but I got drug to a stupid opera with my GF. My local theatre is showing it tonight at 12:01 again I know that.

^ I remember you mentioning the Sunday showing and was wondering if you saw it already.

^ I'm sorry to say that I didn't and I wish I had gone. I'm still kicking myself over it. I was especially kicking myself over it when I watched a few of the online clips on Yahoo this morning. Then I was slamming my head into the desk. I must have hit too hard because now I can't do math...

The two theaters near where I live that do midnight shows typically list the time as 11:59pm, rather than 12:00 or 12:01 am, specifically to avoid such confusion. For example, even though I'll be seeing it at the very beginning of Friday, the listed time is 11:59pm Thursday night.

^ The theatres in Pittsburgh are doing something similar. The official start time of one is 11:59 Thursday. The other times are 12:00, 12:01, 12:02, & 12:03.

Maybe the silly award talk will die down by the end of the year when the real Oscar bait comes out. But, what Heath did in this movie is like nothing I've ever seen before. The way he'll be remembered for this role will be worth more than the statue.

The problem is that every negative stereotype about Oscar voters are true, such as their very short attention span.

I thought he was someone else. Can't believe that I didn't notice it was him. Like you, I will see this again over the weekend.

My brother and I are going to see the midnight showing tonight (provided we get there in time to buy tickets, anyway). Less than 24 hours! I'm so ridiculously hyped I can't stand it! :D

I just got back from seeing it at IMAX :bolian:

It is a long film. It feels like two films shown back-to-back. AND I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT.

this will be a quick, spoiler-free look at the film.

firstly, I want you to know that I am a HUGE Batman fan, I own at least a dozen Batman trades, I have a framed copy of Detective Comics framed and hanging on my wall, I own many Batman DVDs (including BB and the animated series and movies), and I wore my Batman T-shirt to the movies (yes, I'm nerd...but so are you...)

that being said, THIS IS THE BEST BATMAN FILM EVER MADE (animated or live action). In fact, THIS IS THE BEST SUPERHERO FILM EVER MADE. Superman who??? BB was a good attempt at a Batman film, TDK is a note-perfect Batman film - straight from the comic pages to the silver screen!

We finally get to see the real Joker on screen. I believed in Harvey Dent (and had a tear in my eye for his fate).

The IMAX experience was just that, an experience. YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS FILM ON IMAX! I don't know how I will be able to watch it again on a normal sized cinema screen, or heaven forbid, a TV screen.

The Joker was perfect. perfect. perfect.

very minor spoiler - the rumours that we've heard about who the villian in the third film might not be true!

Anyway, enjoy the film. let the gushing begin!
