Any anime fans?

That'd only be true if European animation didn't exist, and even then it does relegate indie and art American animation to the sidelines. (You know, like Linklater's Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly). The Japanese do have the edge on animation as middle-brow serious adult entertainment, though, though there's quite a respectable number of arthouse fare entries as well.
yeah, I should have worded it differently, I meant specifially American "Hollywood produced" animation.

Well yeah, it was a kinda a skewed ending, but I think you will like the Bount Filler Storyline, it is far far better than Naruto's Mission of the week filler.
yeah Im liking this one much better, the focus on Uryu(sp?the emo hair nerd) is a plus...

Oh god I love the way LeLouch (Zero) is planning things, almost like the way Light Yagami is planning stuff, it is like having a anime series about Garak from DS9. Though next week he will find out the high price of his powers and planning, heh!
well, Ive become obsessed with "Orange-kun". Last week's AS episode, getting cooked inside his own mecha , that was just fierce & a thing of beauty. Too bad he's a minor character & I now have to wait till the last 2 episodes & season 2 for
"SupahBadassSexehCyborgOrange":cool:

Yeah, they kind of wasted Crispin Freeman playing him in the dub because he just doesn't appear much. however, he seems to be getting a bigger role in Code Geass: R2 where they just dropped some bombshells involving him...but that's all I'm going to say about that.

^I know what they are.:o I couldnt help myself, I went on a Youtube/anime blog Orange-spoiler spree. I wish AS was showing CG on the weekdays so it'd move along faster.

btw, know where I could find any good Code Geass Orange-kun avies?

Heh, I love "Orange" LOL, Zero could have also said that "you look tired", LOL

I can make you something if you want.

sure that be cool! something where he's got a ticked off expression from being mocked by Lelouch would be funny...he makes great faces. :p

I tried to make one but I cant find any good promo pics of him except for a profile pic & this really good one inspired by the last 2 eps, but it might be too spoilery & I dont know how to remove Lelouch's head. And all the screen caps I find are too dark or blurry...

Alrighty then, check your PM box for Orange.

For now you can probabally get a cheap laugh out of this:

Also I finished up Death Note, Bamboo Blade (pretty good) and Library War (Great but I wish it was longer) and picked up Birdy the Mighty: Decode (A longer and modern remake of the miniseries) and Ikkitousen: Great Guardians (Another installment in the shallow, T&A ridden, martial-arts franchise of the "so bad it actually becomes good" variety) for the new season. Currently still watching Aquarion, Bleach, Code Geass: R2, D.Gray-Man, Devil May Cry, Macross Frontier, My Otome, Naruto Shippuden, Soul Eater, Tekkaman Blade, Vampire Knight, and xXxHolic.

I haven't watched much anime lately, but in the past I've enjoyed Full Metal Alchemist, Monster, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Deathnote, Cowboy Bebop, and Trigun.

I've been wanting to get into Gantz.. Any fans out there who could give me an idea of whether it's worth my time or not?

^ I watched it I thought it was pretty good for the most part although at first I didn't like it. Other shows I really like are Armored Trooper VOTOMS, the UC Gundam series and Macross.

Gantz is definitely not for everybody so be warned. I hated it personally. All the characters annoyed the hell out of me, except for one or two, and it's hard to enjoy a survival/horror series where you think everybody should die. It's first season was okay but the second half tears down all the character development thus far and runs the series into the ground. The series is also extremely repetitive and predictable, just kind of the same old concept over and over throughout the series. If all you're interested in seeing this one for is the ultraviolence and sex then you'll probabally like the series. If you need a little more justification for your ultraviolence and sex, like maybe an interesting story and some likable characters like I do, you probabally will be disappointed. I do have to give the show credit for having some sexy female character designs though.

I'm not a crazed fan of anime, but I do enjoy a couple of shows. Some shows I do enjoy or used to are: Sailor Moon, Cowboy Bebop, Big O, and Vandread. Vandread is by far my favorite show..it's like Star Trek meets Transformers. It kind of reminds me of trek in that which there are ships fighting in space. :) The CGI is wonderful for an anime show!!! I've been thinking about buying the series from amazon.com but it's really high priced right now. I might wait until it goes down in price(and until I pay my credit cards down more..) to get it. :)

That may not be wise since Geneon is the US liscensor and producer of R1 DVDs for that one and the company had major financial trouble last year and and went into standstill mode after a failed merger in which they prematurely fired their production staff. So Vandread and all of their other titles went out of print since November of last year what's out now is all there will ever be unless the series gets rescued. If you really want it I'd suggest getting it before they're gone, personally. However, the following news sheds a little light of hope for you.

Speaking of Geneon and liscense rescues, they've made a deal with Funimation (another anime liscensor). Funimation has agreed to produce DVDs for them and the list of rescued titles includes:

Black Lagoon
Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage
Elemental Gelade
Ergo Proxy
Fate/Stay Night
Hellsing Ultimate
Kamichu
Kyo Kara Maoh Season 2
Lyrical Nanoha
Paradise Kiss
Rozen Maiden
Rozen Maiden Traumend
Shakugan no Shana
Shonen Onmyouji
The Familiar of Zero
The Law of Ueki
The Story of Saiunkoku
When They Cry

Which sadly are only their most recent liscenses and currently nothing is known about the rest of their vast catalog. Although, there still is slight hope for it in my opinion. It would be a pitty if they weren't as Geneon brought over some real diomonds in the rough.

Titles that weren't completed before the cut off date last year like When They Cry will complete their release in single volumes so those who bought the artbox (like me) can complete it, by the way. Titles that didn't even start releasing will begin shortly. This should brighten somebody's day. I know I'm looking forward to owning Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage, and the rest of When They Cry. That chill you feel is hell freezing over. :)

The article can be read here, and you can look here to find out dates for when these titles will begin releasing again.

bwahaha, that Orange gif above is great! And thanks for my new av, its so purty!

Wasnt Trigun released here by Geneon? I cant imagine they wouldnt have picked that up, but it has been a long time since that series was popular. That was my first anime obsession, I loved Vash. I have the anime & a whole bunch of the mangas. Im hoping to find some time to dig them all out & get into them again sometime whenever the new movie comes out.

Birdy the mighty, showtime showed the first ep of the original for a few months years ago, looked alot like ranma1/2, is it on dvd anywhere?

You can buy both volumes used on Amazon but I can't confirm whether you'd be buying legit copies or booted ones.

No problem. Also yes, Trigun was from Pioneer (what Geneon used to be called) so yeah. Technically, Geneon still owns the rights to all it's titles still it just had no means of putting them out until this new deal. The titles listed are so far the only ones announced. hard to tell if they'll bother to dip into old stuff too.

Funimations been a busy little bee lately it also recently rescued a selection of ADV titles recently as well. I just hope they realize all the work they've dumped on themselves and can handle it. The anime industry in the US has really taken a pounding recently, first Geneon last November and ADV also is going through some bad times splitting from it's long time Japanese partner company. Funimation however, is making an absolute masacure in profits though because of it and is either directly releasing or helping with DVD production of a tremendeous ammount of fantastic series.
