Now how come the enterprise-D is still in commission 25 years in the future when it was destroyed in Generations and replaced with enterprise-E in first contact.
Also how come Riker commanded to go to warp 13 when in the voyager episode threshold paris was able to go to warp 10 and frankly turned into a slug.

And because future Picard asks how long has it been since we all served aboard the Enterprise, Geordi says about 25 years. Which contradicts their time spend together on the ENT-E, and Nemesis since Data is still there.

But this explains why their future is different from that future in All Good Things, and why they didn't use higher than warp 9.9 speed later in their future like they did in AGT. Because of the changes Data mentions, they changed that future from AGT.

It doesn't really explain how could they have warp 13 in that future, if warp 10 and higher is impossible. I always wondered about that. Maybe it was writers mistake. Or you could explain that they used different warp scale.

They changed the warp scale from TOS to TNG, so they just changed it again in the TNG AGT future.

The reason the Enterprise is still in commission 25 years in the future (actually I think it was more than 25 years - it was 25 years "Since we were all together on the Enterprise") can be explained two ways, depending on the personal preference of the person doing the explaining.

1. The Enterprise is still in commission for the same dumb@$$ reason that in the Voyager episode "Shattered", Janeway and Chakotay died 17 years before Naomi and Icheb grew up enough to run Astrometrics and Seven was still alive, but in the Voyager finale "Endgame", Seven died five years after that episode. In other words, the producers didn't think before they wrote.

2. Whatever changed with Picard revealing their futures caused the Bird of Prey's torpedo to impact in just the wrong spot. Maybe Data didn't put in his emotion chip originally and therefore Geordi was never kidnapped by Soran, which meant that the Duras sisters couldn't rig his VISOR and blow up the ship?

Additionally, the AGT Enterprise just looks better than the Enterprise-E.

Agreed. The E-D could have been "Refited" for the movies, thus there is no need to destroy her in Generations. Plus, It doesn't make the TNG crew look incompetent.

BTW: Does the re-cycled Star Trek VI BOP being destroyed irk anyone? I mean seeing thtr scene once Star Trek VI, is great but seeing it again in Generation cries that we are recycling film here.

You have to figure that the galaxy class ships were defined to last much longer than 10 years... You see all the "flat saucer" design ships (Reliant Class, Constellation Class... so on) still in service and they have to be 50 years+

This is true. Plus the Saucer section was perhaps re-fited, with a new engiee section? Who knows? Again, the AGT future didn't happen.
