I guess they figure that people willing to fork out $$$$ for a Blu-Ray player and HDTV can afford to pay $35 for a movie.
Hey Daedalus12 who is this/that in you Avatar?
I can provide you with a lot of documented items regarding her filmography...
Agreed. I pay less then $20 for most of my BDs. I got some of them for as little as $10-$12. At most I'll pay $25 for a new release that I really want.^ Well, very few BD's are priced at $35 in the store. Mostly Fox and Paramount titles. Many, many more at either $24.99 or $29.99. Add to that online stores like Amazon or the Warner Brothers store where there are severe discounts and other deals. If you pay full price for any movie on any format at any time, you're an idiot.
Just my .02.
^As we've discussed before, though, it's the delivery charges and import taxes that are a kicker for us Brits.
Score. I got 6 Blu-Ray movies free with my player - the Spider-Man trilogy and the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.Toshiba had a deal for 5 free HD DVD's with the purchase of a player and believe it or not I had 2 of the little sticker thiggies on my HD DVD box so I actually got 10 free movies.
I've got a question for people that have jumped on the Blu-train (sorry about that, lol); how many BDs do you have in your collection? I currently own 40 BDs (42 titles 'cause of the Spidey trilogy).
DVDs were expensive too in the early days of the format.
I have a Blu-Ray player (PS3) and an HDTV, but I haven't as yet bothered to purchase any Blu-Ray films. The LOTR EEs will likely be my first when they're eventually released.
