BOSTON ON TOP OF THE WORLD!!!

And to think I had to wait for 22 years to see them be champions again.

*runs off to celebrate*

Man, the Bruins need to get their butts in gear. They're now the hapless bastard child in Boston sports. :p

they've been the bastard child of Boston for a long time. Even last year, when the Celtics were setting records for sucking, they were more popular than the Bruins!

Another championship in TitleTown! Feels nice to win one on the home court/field, though. Red Sox have been on the road, Patriots play the Superbowls in a neutral site, etc. Great to watch the Celtics be able to celebrate with the home crowd going nuts :D

What a game. As someone born and raised in Massachussetts, this is a long awaited victory, and I'm dancing with joy. Well fought.

I despise the Lakers, but it would've been nice if they actually showed up in the second half of the game, just to make it more interesting. Atrocious defense.

Boston = Titletown!!!!

Hell yeah!!!

I figured Evil David Stern would find some way to push this thing to 7 games to maximize revenue, but in the end the talent differential was just too much to overcome!

Who was that team from LA that were supposed to be the Celtic's opponents. It sure didn't seem like the Lakers. Damn what a ass-kicking and a very anticlimatic way to end the NBA season.

Well, it was a 3-2 series, so it wasn't that bad, but last night's game was just unbelievable, it looked like the Celtics were playing a team from the local church or something. :wtf:

And something that one of the british commentators said was spot on: the Lakers players had no fire in their eyes, it almost seemed they didn't want it enough to fight for it.

Nah - at least the Bruins have more people who notice them than these guys...

...who are gonna have a pretty full schedule this year, with a likely playoff berth for the MLS Cup (hell, if they stay top of the table by season's end, they'll bag the Supporters' Shield, too), the SuperLiga, and a role in the CONCACAF Champions' League on the horizon.

(Here's hoping they can get that soccer-specific stadium built in Somerville, too - and move out from under the Pats' shadow in Gillette Stadium - since, unlike with the Seahawks and Sounders over in Seattle's Qwest Field, the Pats and Revs don't really gain a lot from sharing a ome ground...)

Well the Bruins are atleast part of the big 4 of american sports: MLB, NBA, NFL, and the NHL. MLS is never gonna be part of that, not matter how hard they try. Thats why even though the Revs are successful, no one really knows.

Go Celts! With that core intact, they could be back next year.

Given the character shown by the Lakers, I doubt they'll be back even with Bynum without a major toughness transplant.

Not with Hornets in the wings.

Between the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics.....WOOOOOOT!!! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!:techman::techman::techman:

I know the Pats cheating and then losing in the end! I love how karma kicked them in the ass!

Now? My whole life the Bruins have been the bastards of Boston sports, but they did make the playoffs this year.

I'm just happy basketball is finally over, it's June there should only be baseball.

Yeah, I'm actually a little annoyed that the Revs don't get more notice. They've been one of the better teams in MLS for a good deal of time, now, and been in the last couple MLS Cups. Maybe if they finally win one people will actually start paying attention.

And I really hope that they do get that soccer-specific stadium. I think it would help them out a great deal.

It's soccer, once again, Americans don't give a fuck about soccer. They can fly to the moon and play soccer and America still wouldn't give a damn. They can be the best team on the planet and no one will ever care. Why? Because it's soccer.
