Whatever happened to Mirror Kirk, Scotty, McCoy, and Uhura?

doubleohfive

Fleet Admiral
As I recall, we never actually *saw* them beam back to the Mirror Universe, did we?

So, assuming they didn't just get beamed back off screen (because as I recall, "our" Kirk, Scotty, McCoy, and Uhura were kind of barely made it back), what's the story?

Further, have any of the novels, tie-ins, fan films, etc. done anything with this particular plot point?

If not, how fucking awesome would it have been for there to have been a movie made about them, coming after Kirk and Spock out of revenge? Think about it! Kirk vs. Kirk! ZOMG!

"Our" Kirk, Scotty, McCoy and Uhura barely made it back because they were pulling a ruse. "Their" Kirk, Scotty, McCoy and Uhura were safely in our Spock's custody and no doubt were escorted by armed guard to their appointment with the transporter.

Edit to add: The Mirror Universe trilogy ("Glass Empires", I think it's called?) deals with what happened after the return. The Spock-centric novel is very good and fits the feel of the series. The Enterprise and TNG books aren't quite as "right", IMO, in particular the TNG offering.

Right, I've said this before...
We only got a scene or two, but the eps would have been great to see not only our crew in the MU, but the MU crew aboard our Enterprise.

MU Kirk and co. beam back and start giving orders to obliterate the Halkans.
Spock raises an eyebrow and says WTF??!!

Sure, they all ended up in the brig. But how did that play out? Any medical exam to declare the captain unfit to command? MU McCoy was there, so he wouldn't object.
How did Spock figure out what exactly happened? How did he know it was a case of crews being switched and not just something that happened to "our" crew?
Just lots of stuff that we never got to see...

wasn't this covered in a history lesson of a couple of those ds9 universe crossover episodes they did....

except for maybe DS9# 132 RESURRECTION, no one's dealt with Mirror people coming to 'our' universe, and no one has done 'What happened on the Enterprise.' Spock kind of dismisses it saying it was easy to pick up on barbarians trying to act civil.

The Shatnerverse novels are Shatner on Kirk vs. Kirk! ZOMG! indeed

I forgot about those enterprise episodes....
I really loved how they put the HO in Hoshi
she was a real slut in those... but you have to love our emperess.

My guess would be Spock neck-pinched alternate Kirk and used the mind meld on him just as alt-Spock did to McCoy. Realizing this isn't his Kirk, Spock then orders security to throw the alternates into the brig and checks the transporter with Lt. Kyle, which confirms the "transposition". He figures his Kirk and crew would try to find a way back to their universe, which would send their counterparts away at the same time, so he just sits and observes them, seeing what humanity was like prior to what humans of the Federation would be like now, which enables him to make that remark that Kirk and McCoy would find insulting at the end of the episode.

I remember from "Dark Victory" when Kirk, while in the Mirror Universe on Earth, and in Iowa, was in Tiberius' hideout, and found many unusual items. One of these was a large picture showing Starfleet HQ, and in front was a mass execution. Scott, McCoy, Uhura, Markus, Rand, and so on were all hanged as part of a 'purging' so that Kirk could make sure he'd have no one to worry about since he was after the throne of the Empire and wanted to have fewer problems to deal with in the future.

I heard there was at least one outtake, in which MU McCoy gleefully asks "our" crew's medical staff for bets on how much pain a patient can tolerate.

The latest issue of Orion Randy's fanzine Antares has a story that addresses this very thing; basically, it's the story of what happened in "our" universe during the events of "Mirror, Mirror", and it's very well written.

The story's not available online yet, but you can buy a copy of the zine here.
