Ugliest Red Shirt Death...

While not a death, the crewman who got beamed up during the storm in Enterprise's Strange New World came back pretty horribly disfigured, what with leaves and sticks embedded throughout his body.

Speaking of disfiguring non-death - don't forget the lady in Charlie X that got her face chopped off! That always freaked me out when I was younger.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Lt. Cmdr. Dexter Remmick, yet. His death is, easily, the most graphic in all of Star Trek.

Yes, and does anyone else think that Picard & Riker actually enjoyed doing that, considering what a jerk Remmick was when he visited the Enterprise? Maybe they "accidentally" bumped their phaser settings up a notch or three? :)

Not only that, but in a deleted scene, they even crossed the streams!

I say its the security guards that got beamed into space in THE CHILDREN SHALL LEAD THEM...imagine suddenly materializing outside the ENTERPRISE and seeing it fly by a split second before you cash in.

didn't like at the end where Kirk blissfully sailes off never making an mention of going back for the men stranded on Triacus.

While not a redshirt, the absolute ugliest death in all of Star Trek history is the death of Xon in the transporter accident in Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

The scream of a Vulcan. . . Oh my . . . god . . . the scream . . .
Another vote for this one.

The death of Hogan (the former Maquis) on the planet in Basic II by the cave monster would have been pretty gruesome. Does he qualify as a red/yellow shirt?

Since the post-TOS colour scheme switched red and yellow, I'd say Hogan qualifies as a redshirt. :)

That was rather gruesome. I don't think she was an ex-Maquis, though. Didn't she provide information to the Bajoran Resistance without actually joining a resistance cell. If my memory is correct, she was a maid in a Cardassian facility during the Occupation.

You're right; that was it. I should refrain from posting before having had enough coffee in the morning.

That episode is permanently burned into my mind. The "That's One, That's Two, That's Three" part was truly disturbing.
