TrekBBS Fantasy Baseball League!

And I needed to replace Travis Hafner with a decent hitting infielder.

Hafner's been in a big slump, but I was a bit surprised to see him on the waiver wire in the ESPN league. Slump or no, I wouldn't mind getting him on my roster. I just have to hope no one else felt the same way, because I was 8th on the claim list.

Anyway, it looks like your trade should work out well for both of you. I'm hoping not too soon, though: I'd like to break out of my NL Yahoo slump first, and right now the Gallifry Time Lords are kicking my ass.

Edited to add: Damn! I was too low on the waiver order to get Hafner.

Ya I got Hafner at waiver wire #7, willing to trade him to you..

So I was just one spot short on the waiver wire order? Damn the luck! I would have liked to have picked Hafner off the wire, but I don't want him enough to trade away for for him.

I'm not sure if this is a right move or not but I'm going to ask anyway. What harm can it do. I've sucked this season so far.

Is anyone interested in a trade of Justin Verlander for a pitcher. I'm thinking he's a good buy low right now, and I am very disgruntled with the guy. Anyone want to get some conversations going.

About the last thing I need right now is another slumping pitcher on my roster. I'm still trying to shore up my pitching staff in the ESPN league, but I've all but given up on starting pitchers on my NL Yahoo team. After this week, I may just keep a couple and dump the rest of the losers.

Like I said, I don't think anyone will take him, but it was worth a try. I may just drop him and take my losses.

I don't know if I'd drop Verlander just yet- the season's still early and he could turn things around. I know it's frustrating, but keeping him could pay off down the line.

I'm in a good waiver spot, I say drop him :)

Ah, scout. You're a day late. I'm going to keep him and see what happens. I'm probably going to sit him the next start though. See where things go from here and he has even admitted that he doesn't feel right. Things could turn around but sitting him a start might not be a bad idea.

eh, with his current record, I can't really afford to carry him, anyway. Might have been a nice snag for later, but right now, not worth much.

On a side note, a little disappointed that I didn't see my birthday cake when I logged in yesterday :(

Happy belated birthday!

Looks like I'm out of DL space on my Yahoo team- I lost both Vernon Wells and Chone Figgins (took them long enough to place him on the DL) yesterday. That'll take some bite out of my offense, and I need my hitters to make up for my crappy pitching.

Happy belated birthday, Scout.

Now I feel guilty about beating you yesterday....:o
Thanks Ice (and Pegs, too) :)

Yeah, had a rough week for Fantasy Baseball. Just couldn't get anything going. Wouldn't count me out just yet, though. And I did manage to win the ESPN matchup vs Coaster (the two top seeds battling it out). Unfortunately, I won it 5-4-1, so while it was a win, another team went 10-0 and jumped ahead of me. Not even a little worried about that team, though, as it's seriously stacked. Plus, I've been doing it without ARod, and should get him back by the weekend, hopefully...

I haven't gotten anything going since the freaking Draft. When the hell well I win a week I have no idea. Until then, people shouldn't be complaining about having a bad week. ;)

Well, I'll still whine about my ESPN team. This year I had high hopes for the puppy but instead I keep piling up the losses. Only difference from last year is that it's my pitching that sucks instead of my batting.

Fuck. Jeff Keppinger broke his left kneecap today. He's been my primary shortstop because Edgar Renteria has been slumping so badly as of late. Hopefully the injury isn't too severe and Renteria gets his act together...

What is it about Sunday that makes me suck so bad. If I can figure that out, that might be a win in and of itself. Until then, I think that's 6 bad weeks in a row. I might be heading towards breaking some fantasy baseball records or something. :D

While I bummed out that Keppinger is going to be out for 4 to 6 weeks, I'm very happy to see Alfonso Soriano has finally caught on fire after a slump and injury. Seven home runs this past week! :D

My hitters in general were hot this week. I don't I've ever won a week with an OPS over 1.000!
