Where has time gone? Avery Brooks will be

Photon

Commodore
Commodore
60 Y/O this October. Seems like yesterday he was 45 and stepping over wreckage left by the Cardassians and trying to be nice to Kira.

Fifteen years.

I don't have anything more intelligent to say about that than "wow," but, really...wow.

Mr. Fergie, can I please borrow your ava? and do you have a bigger image of it by any chance? it's just... fantastic, thanks! :)

Deep Space Nine really started when I was six years old?

I remember watching the pilot on tape (mum wouldn't let me stay up late enough to watch it, or something). I didn't realize I was so young when things started.

As for Mr. Brooks, I saw him on stage in Tamburlaine a few months ago. Let's just say he looks damned good for his age.

I saw Mr. Brooks in Tulsa, OK in 2001. He looked great! Couldn't have been any better seeing him.

yeah, I have him up on my work PC and it's getting a LOT of admiring stares and a few "huh, who dat dude?'s hey maybe I can turn a few future Niners this way :D

Yep, it's been fifteen years since DS9 started. I was 23 then, and I'm 38 now.

Shit I'm old......

Big deal.....I've been a fan of Brooks since "Spenser: For Hire".....and y'all know how long that's been.....

I JUST had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Brooks yesterday!

And what a fantastic experience. Not only was he one of the nicest people I've ever met (really and truly, I was expecting a bit more gruffness or something, but he was really the nicest guy!), but I went with a group of about 8 people to the convention. We met him first thing in the morning. He made sure to get everybody's names, and he walked around and shook all of our hands.

But the kicker was, 6 hours later as we were leaving, he was coming in through the exit and we were passing by on our way out. He stopped us all to say good-bye, and as he did, he went through all of our names again!! Only stumbled on 2 of them!!

He joked around for a bit, and then we headed off.

Class act AND he's as sharp as ever (sharper than I am right now, that's for sure!)

well, he is a prof at one of the nation's biggest unis, he's gotta be sharp. ;)

glad to know you had a good time! he's a sweetie.
