All of this is amazing news. I'll be the first with a theory about what KRAD's novel will be about. Whatever happens in Destiny will fracture the Federation, and a mass successionist movement will split in two.

I checked with Ed Schlesinger, who edits NF, and they're shooting for 2009 for the next novel, but he and Peter are still hashing out the plot outline. Once that's done, it'll be scheduled.Still no New Frontier, very dissapointing (yes I know we have the comics) but i would love some new frontier books soon
There will be. It just hasn't been scheduled yet. Worry not.I realise this will come across like a fabulously wealthy man complaining that his massive piles of gold aren't quite shiny enough for him, but...
No DS9-R after Fearful Symmetry?![]()
Dammit, WHO TOLD YOU????????????????I hope KRAD's novel is the one that reveals President Bacco to be the changeling from the VOY-R orchastrating both sides of the split in order to reorganize the Federation into the first Galactic Empire!![]()
By the way, there's a bit more Trek news from Comic-Con that's not novel-related. I happened across the booth for GIT, the company that has put out DVD-ROM collections of the entire runs of various Marvel comics (their Amazing Spider-Man collection was invaluable to me in researching Drowned in Thunder), and they had posters up proclaiming that a complete DVD collection of Star Trek comics is coming this fall. I asked the people there about it, and they said it's due in October and will contain the complete runs of "all four" publishers of Trek comics. I didn't find out for certain, but I guess if you count Wildstorm as part of DC, that would pretty much cover everything pre-IDW (Gold Key, Marvel '80s, the two DC runs, Malibu's DS9, Marvel '90s, and Wildstorm). Hopefully that's what they meant, but don't take my word for it. Anyway, this is great news, since I've been wanting to catch up on the comics from the '90s that I missed, but it's very hard to find back issues of them (and I don't have the shelf space for them anyway).
Can someone tell me what the "Destiny" trilogy is about? I can't find that info...
I take it Prez Bacco will be announcing the formation of a grand army of the Federation...
So Picard's on book two's cover, then who's on book one's? Place your bets!
Finally, having just finished proofreading the pages for A Gutted World, I can assure you that Myriad Universes is on track. The cover art just isn't ready for prime time, yet.
Marco and Margaret asked me to hold off on showing the Destiny: Mere Mortals cover until all three are complete.
