Giving STO Another Try

I personally prefer beam arrays and a few omni's at the back, that way i am always hitting with all weapons from the broadside, plus broadside allows me to stay out of range of things like tractor beams from the enemy ships, so i can stay are 8km away with superior pedal to the metal for that 30% plus all damage at full throttle, circling them like a shark in the water as they pop with beam overload dropping the odd 40 second gravity well to keep them controlled and in the one place.

Quick question....
You said a few omni's at the back. I just bought a second omni on the exchange, but it said I could only equip one. Is that because I still fly a T5 ship? Or is it something else?

You should be able to put 2 different omni's on your ship now, as that was recently allowed in the recent patch of the game, with the only restrictions being that they cannot be the same omni.

Ah, I see. Hm, I just saw a short about something called Kinetic Cutting Beam, I'll check that out. I am geared towards Phaser but I look into a different type later today.

They would have - but the use of that uniform wax practically last minute because originally Jack Crusher was going to be in a TNG style ship's uniform until someone commented "This hohomessage is supposed to be 15 years old.."

They used what they found; and the Turtleneck shirt wasn't with that jacket.

That’s right, there was also the Crusher scene. So strange - they had tons of those things lying around for extras in the movies. I’m kind of amazed that they couldn’t find even one to put on the actor, if even just the top collar and not even a full shirt underneath. Nobody on-set ever said “that doesn’t really look quite right”?

Lots of people did. Berman HATED the turtlenecks.

Ah, now THAT makes sense. I guess he probably hated the belts, too. Everything that pulled the whole costume together.

Going back to the screencaps of that scene in “Family”, they also put a TNG combadge on that uniform, which made it look even more wrong.

What a moron.

Berman, not you… :)

To be fair they weren't trying to make it look like it was the 23rd century. They were trying to make it appear that it was an earlier time in the 24th century.

Complete speculation on my part.

Since they’re revamping the TWOK uniforms, I wonder if that means if the Past Imperfect remake is going to be moved from the TOS era to the Movie era.

It could just be for the 60th, and they really did need a rework.

I have not.

Well it is a great system that rewards a ton of stuff, dil rewards, marks rewards, vanity shields, and some really good space and ground gear, plus any space or ground gear you craft from the rep system fully at 250,000 points gets a 2% dps bonus, like the borg cutting beam and console.................but don't burn yourself out trying to log in everyday to do it, just do what feel comfortable with, and before you know it, it will be done, as this game is not going anywhere soon.

I think I started the rep thing with a previous toon several years ago.
I realize I'll need to do some more TFO's and patrols and focus on other marks than Fleet Marks, but this should work! Thanks for the tip.
