I remember feeling at the time -- so, 2007 -- that Snow Patrol's music video for "Signal Fire" was better Spider-Man film than Spider-Man 3. The irony is that I'd been a Snow Patrol fan for several years, and I dropped them pretty hard because of "Signal Fire." It felt more like a pastiche of a Snow Patrol song than an authentic Snow Patrol song, like they dropped all of their tricks and motifs in a blender and made something without an ounce of creativity. Anyway, fantastic video.
I don't really think Spider-Man 3 is a disaster, but it highlights how much of a toxic, entitled incel chud Tobey's Peter Parker is. He's right-wing coded to me, and I cannot see the Peter/MJ relationship ever working. To bring it back to the movie, it's well-made, it's got good setpieces, and The Sandman is genuinely tragic.
The movie's writers are of the belief that Jean didn't kill anyone, but don't comment specifically on the bus incident...

Also, I don't buy their excuse for holding back Jean's identity prior to the film's release. Yes, we're in Peter's shoes but trying to hide something so very obvious didn't help with that feeling.
Being told that it did and believing it are two different things.
I, too, never bought the Maguire/Dunst relationship. Mind you, I'm heavily biased against both them because I'm not fan of them as actors, but the point remains.

We know they apparently married. That does not mean the relationship is a healthy one. I, for one, doubt that Tobey's Peter would be willing to put in the work and do the self-reflection.
I will grant that he does seem to be, in NWH, to be in an emotionally healthier place, but we're also seeing him in a very unusual situation that doesn't have any analog in normal human experience. I don't think you can say anything meaningful about his relationship with his wife based on NWH.
Agreed--he did not act to stop the Emperor or his Empire from their crimes, he acted only for selfish reasons, and in that sense, Lucas--for all of his faults regarding the PT--was consistent in making said selfish behavior a part of Vader/Anakin all along. So much for the idea of the Fallen Hero Redeemed.

I had an idea that Peter would work towards becoming a science teacher. The final scene of Holland's last Spider-man movie would be answering a question......from Miles Morales.
Yup, I far prefer that idea. Which leads to Holland's idea of passing the baton by becoming a mentor of sorts, like Tony was for him.
Considering how passionate Tom is about introducing Miles I could see him either popping up as a mentor in Miles's movies or introducing Miles in his own movies/movie and some kind of sacrificial passing of the baton.
But no way can I see them killing off Peter Parker. If they were too worried about doing a Man-Spider dream sequence in this movie then they aren't going to push the envelope.

Which is why I sadly see no chance of ever doing a proper "Kraven's Last Hunt" adaptation. Not to mention the shotgun to the face. I can see DC doing an animated version of a story like that, but not Marvel/Disney.

I liked the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Are they better than Episodes 4, 5, 6? No, but it didn't mean I didn't enjoy them when they came out. Years later, my youngest nephew became a SW fan after having seen the prequels. He got all the action figures and ligtsabers, memorized all the dialogues, and re-enacted scenes with me.

I would take one of the many endings to the 90s Clone Saga that didn't take. Peter retires to be a family man and he and MJ head for a life in the West Coast, leaving Ben — or, in this case, Miles — to do the Spider-Man thing.
