So, Prime & the Whoniverse

As much as I like both shows, a cross-over is not something that I want to see happen.

On the practical side of things, could Paramount and the BBC actually work out a deal in which to pull that off? And if they did, which Doctor would show up? As much as I could kinda see Pelia hanging out with the 4th Doctor and as much as I like him, Tom is just too old now to pull it off.

UNLESS... her travels were with the Curator. This thought had not occured to me until just now.

I just don't understand how Trek and Who being in the same universe makes sense. I mean shouldn't Starfleet encountered some Daleks or Weeping Angels or something, Also I am pretty sure Star Trek has been referenced as a tv show on Who, before.
Skaro is supposed to be a few galaxies away, so they wouldn't necessarily bump into Daleks.

However, the amount of times that the Daleks have invaded this galaxy, it stands to reason that one encounter could've happened.

Didnt they invade earth a few times??

Since Star Trek is a tv show in the who verse I'm gonna say no. Also how many times have the Daleks invaded earth???? In the past/present and future and NO mention of it in any of the Star Trek shows??? It would not be line up.
....if they did some thing this stupid I would never watch anything from 2009-2027 ever again. 😂

As I said in the episode thread once shows do these types of gimmicks they are totally bankrupt with ideas and near the end of their runs. So they have to get self referential and do gimmicks like Crossover, puppets and Musicals ... 😂. (Puppets and the musical which were stolen ideas from Buffy and Angel and done on several scifi/fant shows now)

Hopefully she was just being playful and watched the show. If they make this a thing both shows wiil never recover from it. In fact I think both Franchises are beyond fixing, except maybe for a complete reboot. But at this point in my life I'm not interested in that either.
There's no reason to watch it now.

How dare shows have fun and gimmicks. This is Star Trek and no fun shall be had. Heinlein should have sued them.

The original show had a few lighthearted episodes. The movies had TFF which was awful. But I don't remember them having any crossover with Bonanza or Bewitched.... 😂

There is a point when this stuff gets too silly. SNW has done a lot of that. It turns a lot of people off. Star Trek needs all the fans it can get at this point. Turning them off on gimmick after gimmick is not going to retain them or bring in new fans. It is what it is though. Have fun with it. If you like it that is cool. But it does nothing for me and just further erodes a the franchise in my eyes. Its a shame. They could have done so much cool stuff with this show. I would have loved to see a properly done Prequel to TOS with Pike and the crew that we saw in the Menagerie. Oh well.

No.

It doesn't.

Watch what you like. The franchise remains intact. It goes nowhere because it dares have lighthearted episodes or a crossover that has already been done in comics before.

If this move diminishes the franchise in a fan's eyes then the esteem was paper thin to begin with.

I highly doubt it is that intact. Pretty sure we won't get much for several years after this show ends and Academy. I'm hoping for a reboot with just films. No more TV shows. 🤞

I hope for no more content. 🤞

I know it's that intact because I can literally talk to people about Kirk, Spock and McCoy and use them as teaching examples in therapy sessions and people know it. I see magazines and specials all about TOS around. The Trek legacy is not that fragile except to fans who enjoy worrying.

"You'll get nothing and like it"

IF the Paramount/WB merger completes, there will be no new Film or Streaming/TV Trek.

They'll continue to promote and license all the existing Trek they've made to date, buy they'll spend their time and money on bigger and what they feel are more successful and profitable IPs.

Of course as we know their is alternate universes in Doctor Who and Trek. One could I suppose go with the notion she traveled with a different Doctor. The alternate universe excuse has no limits. God knows I have ran with it in my declaration of The Orville being a Trek show.

They are working on a Trek movie right now. My guess is that is the next Trek project we will see. I do think they will wait and see how well it does, before doing anything else. I do have a theory is that since it will be set in a new timeline they might, if the movie is successful, basically use that setting for the next Trek series along with sequels of course to that one movie.

Thats possible. Trek has pretty much been run to the ground. A far cry from the old days. Just think how cool it was after a old 60s TV show leapt to big screen movies. The Wrath of Khan being the high water mark. I don't see any of the kurtzman TV shows ever going to the big screen.

I think we're might get original films with a new crew and ship. That would be cool. No 32nd cebtury. Lol

After SNW season 5 (which has already been filmed), these guys aren’t going to be producing any more Trek for the foreseeable future. Ditto for BBC and Who. So I’m not sure why worrying or looking forward to a Doctor Who/Star Trek crossover is actually a thing.
