Giving STO Another Try

I'd say still called the Titan-A, but STO already has a 25th Century USS Titan, Titan Class (not -A, it has its own registry, NCC-98100). Maybe have it renamed Picard lmao, but I imagine Paramount might object to that.

Shaw could still be alive in the STO'verse

It seems that some version of Picard Season 1's events still happened, Hugh vaguely references the events on the Cube. Plus they did retcon in the Synth attack on Mars.

A lot of people asked for it, and I think it's a cool design.
I would be elated if Todd Stashwick joined STO for a season.

Played a bit more yesterday, had some more fun. I think I need to start working on better gear (weapons) or invest some dilithium for zen and buy a Tier6 ship.

If youre on PC the current event lands you a smashing T6 Klingon ship.

I am. How does that work though? I do play Federation, but which event do I do? Undiscovered? And is it a solo play or do you need to work in a team?
Yes its the Undiscovered Event, best pick a space TFO from the event list and just start blowing stuff up. You'll be with four other players, but don't let that put you off.

If you want to do something solo there are bound to be two patrols in the event list.

I'm actually a console player, so this event hasn't started for me yet, but they usually follow a similar format.

Coolcool, I might try that later today.
In your experience, and those of other players, is it worth buying a Tier 6 ship from the Zen Store? And, seeing as I'm playing Starfleet/Tactical, what ship would be the best option?

For Fed, the Terran Lexington Dreadnought Cruiser seems to be a favourite, and it's never steered me wrong.

I usually wait until there are discounts before buying Zen store ships, or farm dilithium and convert it to Zen.

Since you're on PC, there might be promotional giveaways in the store right now, but I think @Tuskin38 will know more about this than me. A T6 coupon sporadically turns up for various reasons.

Thanks! I will wait and if Tuskin38 responds, and when I'm home later today I'll look into it.

Why not? I believe they just basically ignored Hugh's death and had del Arco come in to voice him anyway. Maybe say that the Borg put Shaw into transporter stasis after his death scene with plans to assimilate him later, then after Frontier Day Starfleet was able to revive him and promoted him to Admiral (to let Seven keep the Titan-A/Enterprise-G)

The events of Picard season 1 still happened. Hugh was on board the Artefact cube and had a run in with a Romulan shadow knife. He just survived. To be fair we never did see his body in season 1...

Seven is not allowed to be a Starfleet officer in STO. CBS completely vetoed it. There is also no Enterprise-G as the F was launched in 2409 with the E serving all the way up until 2408. It was destroyed by Undine and Worf defected to the Klingon empire in 2401 so it was not his fault.
In game aren't we 10-11 years past the timeline in Picard?
We are in 2412 now but the game is releasing remastered content set in 2409

I could see the STO guys just dropping a casual mention of him miraculously surviving a Borg invasion, which could easily be in reference to his survival while serving on the Constance or as captain of the Titan.

They happily had Burnham and Stamets as holograms, heck, even the latter gained full sentience due to the mycelial network. They could do something similar, if they wanted.

BTW, I still never got the change to join your fleet. Is that still possible?

Picard S3 ends in 2402 after the timeskip. There's literally enough time for the Ent-G to have a 7 year mission under Captain Seven and then have the F recommissioned for... reasons. A lot of STO's "irreconcilable" continuity issues with Pic S3 can probably be fixed with some rewritten dialogue and a retcon of the events that occur between 2402 and 2409 when STO begins.

Oh! My bad, I could have sworn it was you.
Looking back, it looks like it was @Haggis and tatties :)

Sounds good to me, especially if you factor in the Yorktown refit.

The question is, what was the F doing all that time? Did it become Geordi's new passion project after the D was ready for display?

The F could've been refitted to something more capable for combat. Shaw clearly says that the Titan-A isn't a warship and I don't think a name change will change that. Maybe when the STO Klingon-Borg-Undine war starts, the G just isn't up to the game and they bring in a refitted F for morale reasons.

The Borg being back after Picard S3 is a problem as Frontier Day was supposed to be their final defeat. However, Lower Decks ended with a stable multiverse portal existing. The Borg villains in the game could've come from a parallel reality through that portal--problem solved.
