The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

  • Thread starter Rowdy Roddy McDowall

About time. Every time I hear about it being revived, I'm disappointed to hear it's just the old reruns in a new time slot. I think there's something about The Littlest Hobo that resonates even today. Hopefully they keep the theme song in the new version.

Got a little excited -- thought for sure it was "Due South".

I'd love a Due South revival too. Fraser would likely be a senior officer at this point, maybe a consular officer somewhere. He gets wind that someone is trying to reach him, which turns out to be Ray Vecchio's daughter who needs his help. She's an attorney, while Ray is has gone into politics and is serving as US Senator but has gone missing.

I could see Seth Rogen being involved along with Will Arnett.

I don't think modern day Seth Rogan would do it. Early 2000's Seth Rogan probably would. My guess is many people's instinct would be to go for satire but it would be hard to beat "Wet Hot American Summer" in doing that.

I think you basically have to set in the past just to justify some of the jokes that would come with a movie. Any setting past the 1980's I don't think would work. I think the perfect person to do it would be Mike Judge or the 3 guys who created "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

Don't know what Power is, but it sure has a ton of spinoffs. Latest one is Power: Legacy, which picks up after Power Book IV: Force.
