Spoilers Russell T. Davies' Second Turn as Doctor Who Showrunner

His gimmick was that he changed forms to appear as whoever the "strongest mind nearby" wanted him to appear as. Or something like that.
Oh, OK.
I've seen a few people talk about how they tore down the TARDIS set after Ncuti Gatwa's last episodes, but I'm not really sure if that means anything since we're probably going to get a new set for the new Doctor anyway.

As far as scrapping the sets, we all "saw" 10's TARDIS blowing up at the end of his regen cycle, and yet it returned less than a year later for The Doctor's Wife. If BW was determined to keep the major sets available it would be easy to put it in storage for a year or two and put it back together again when it's needed.
We don't really see that set getting destroyed in TEOT, though. Just various contained fires lit throughout the set, and one of the coral support beams collapses, which was configured to be instantly put back in place due to the need for multiple takes. Indeed, we know the Eccleston/Tennant console room was kept standing after TEOT finished filming because Neil Gaiman got in contact with Moffat saying he wanted that set for The Doctor's Wife. After that episode was filmed, the set was then moved to the Doctor Who Museum in Cardiff, which is how they were able to revisit it in Day of the Doctor.

The console room from RTD's second term has actually been destroyed, making it impossible to revisit.

All of the TARDIS's give such a vibe. (More changed even from 1-5 than people often notice.)

Four's GORGEOUS wood "auxiliary" control room is a fave.

But... I don't remember the RTD2's CONSOLE. That's surely a problem? I remember the huge space and the ramps and reverting to the classic white. But I'd have to look up the console. Ah... OK. Not bad.

I know I didn't like the McGann (McCoy?) control room at the time but now I kinda love it.

Sorry, I don't think I'll ever like Jodie's.

No, the TARDIS set is still standing. The UNIT sets were all torn down though.

So, there's a purported press release floating around social media for release on Saturday about the Christmas special.

My opinion.

It's a fake.

First, a BBC press release isn't going to have the date in the Month Day comma Year format.

Second, if you want a press release to be embargoed until a specific time, you do not lead with "FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE." I have written several hundred embargoed press releases in my career, and they all lead with "EMBARGOED UNTIL...." You want to make it crystal clear when this press release can go live.

Third, Saturday? No one is going to release a press release like this on a Saturday. You want to get press, not bury the damn thing.

It is written well, and it sounds convincing, but I believe it is a fake.

I think there's only one real option for "the most radical regeneration in the history of Doctor Who" -- the Doctor regenerates into...

A hamster!

No, no. Where did that come from? I smell no elderberries.

Seriously, the Doctor regenerates into a Dalek. You can't get more radical than that. I have no idea how a series with a Dalek-Doctor would work, but it would be radical!

Another Russell interview today, on LBC this time, where when he was asked what he's doing next the answer was nothing yet.

I don't know that bringing RTD back was a mistake, but I feel RTD's approach was a bit of a mistake. Thought the blame may more properly fall on his BBC bosses.

The Beeb partnered with a streamer, then delivered an episodic, over-the-air series. I don't fault Disney for bailing—the content wasn't what they wanted, plus they realized streaming in general is fool's gold—and I'm doubtful Doctor Who could ever work as a streamer.
