Superman

Richard Donner/Richard Lester Era Superman actors we've lost. And this collage doesn't include Richard Pryor and Robert Vaughn.

Also doesn't include Terence Stamp.

We still have John Ratzenberger amongst the surviving supporting actors, so that's a plus.

Steve Younis, the guy who has run the Superman Homepage for decades now, claps back against a Culture War SnyderBro's video:

Btw, I can also recommend Steve's weekly Speeding Bulletin videos, collecting the week's news on all things Superman.

I finally saw the new superman movie with Corenswet. I have to say I wasn't impressed. It looks like the new DC movies are going the route of guardians of the galaxy. Getting tired of all the comedy. I honestly like the last superman tv show better so far. Also just too many reboots now.

It really seems we'll never get the grounded type of Superman we got with Christopher Reeve. Superman the Movie, Superman II and yes even Superman III were much better than the James Gunn one. This new one was just stuffed with too many heroes, villains etc. It just never slowed down.

IMO, Gunn’s Superman and the Superman & Lois TV series were both near-perfect screen versions of the characters for the 21st century, despite their different tones and approaches.

The only reason those movies were "grounded" was because the technology really didn't exist to make them anything more than that. I really enjoy the first two films, but if you were to make a Superman movie like that today, audiences wouldn't even notice.

Superman turning back time by spinning the world around backwards is "grounded"?
