His contract is up in a few months. August i think. We'll all know by the fall what's really going on.
What's the point of paying him to sit around?

so an "answer" based on something a bunch of people seem to have no source for, except each other? It comes from a Google search. A.I after its collated the data gives that month.

But we all know random people on the Internet know exactly how Paramount's business works without fail!I highly doubt details of Kurtzman's contract are known to random people on the internet.
That’s just science. But we all know random people on the Internet know exactly how Paramount's business works without fail!
All of the "____ fans live here" pages on Facebook are aggregate pages for "We Got This Covered", which is an extremely unreliable source.Well, I'm looking at the sources it's pulling from, and two are from Facebook. (A group called "StarTrekFansLiveHere" posted a rumor;
Sad how AI has rendered Google pretty useless for accurate information. It comes from a Google search. A.I after its collated the data gives that month.

I was kind of worried this would be the case...
Well, I'm looking at the sources it's pulling from, and two are from Facebook. (A group called "StarTrekFansLiveHere" posted a rumor; the other is Star Trek: Phoenix's fan group, in which someone says they've "heard similar rumors.") Another, non-Facebook, citation is a Trek Central video short, via Collider, which reiterates that the contract runs through the end of this year. Last and certainly least, there's a Reddit thread, which involves a petition to... remove Alex Kurtzman.
August is certainly possible, but I still haven't seen anything verifying it. I'll continue leaning toward end-of-2026, but I'm just as curious as anybody.
It pulls information from many sources on the internet. So of course they'll be inaccuracies. No one knows the exact date that kurtzmans contract expires. Everyone assumes its December 31 2026 but it could be months earlier.Sad how AI has rendered Google pretty useless for accurate information.
They would almost certainly have to pay him some kind of early termination fee, cheaper to wait it out.
I’ve got a plugin for my web browser that blocks all the AI features. It makes it feel like what a google search used to be.Sad how AI has rendered Google pretty useless for accurate information.
I want that feature.I’ve got a plugin for my web browser that blocks all the AI features. It makes it feel like what a google search used to be.
Only interested in this if the opening "These are the voyages......" style VO is the gazelle speech.
Here's a quick how-to from Reddit if you have Firefox:I want that feature.
Thank you very much! Here's a quick how-to from Reddit if you have Firefox:
Follow these steps to add Google to Firefox:
If you want it to use the "Web" tab by default (with no AI or snippets), add &udm=14 to the end of the URL.
- Open about:config
- Create browser.urlbar.update2.engineAliasRefresh as a new Boolean preference and set it to true
- Open about: preferences#search and scroll down to the list of built-in search engines
- Click on the Add button and type into the Engine URL field: example screenshot with another URL
- Scroll up and set it as your default search engine
It is. Despite this thread refusing to die there's zero reason to believe this show will happen, it was pitched, that's all. Countless writers and producers pitch ideas all the time, this means nothing in the big picture. The entire idea sounds boring.
