Ooh, this looks like a fun one! Which of course means that a lot of viewers will feel let down, because they thought every episode from here on out would be in the more serious vein of “Come, Let‘s Away”. Is it me or are they building more and more towards a Jay-Den/Kyle/Darem love triangle?
Indeed, this may make some Shippers very happy
I'm going to be interested to see the tone of this week's episode. Because they could attempt go do Family in miniature, concentrating on the post-traumatic stress of dealing with the Furies, or they could just go for a light comedic episode to balance out the downer last week.
Last week was pretty traumatising so I'm glad this week will be a bit lighter. As long is doesn't do the Trek thing of 'Character X has depression/trauma, got over it in an episode and was fine the following week and never mentioned it again' nonsense and glaze over what happened.
Personally I think they've been hinting at Darem/Jay-den since episode 1 but yeah Jay-den/Kyle/Darem is going to be a thing especially with all the mentions of both Jay-den and Darem, either being in polycule relationships or coming from a polycule family. I would like to see some sexual tension between Darem and Kyle in this episode though.
As I feel as if Jay-Den and Kyle are going to be a thing, then that leaves Genesis/Darem, which was heavily hinted in the pilot. Genesis is just waiting the requisite 6 months that she recommended to Caleb.
Caleb and Genesis was also heavily hinted at in the pilot. Darem and Genesis have best buds energy after their working together last week and I think non-romantic friendship between men and women needs to be normalised in fiction.
Darem is very clearly interested in Jay-Den. Between the sexual tension of the battle breathing scene in ep 4 and Darem behaving like a jealous boyfriend in ep 5, something is going to happen with those two (and kyle).
I think they were testing various dynamics out with the pilot. I'm not sure we should hold them to any of the dynamics suggested in that episode in particular.
If we get to see a bit of "At Home With The Sadals", on Betazed, then we might see Ocam shaving. Do you think there is some hi-tech sonic tool for this, or does he just use his razor.
I take it that Darem was interested in Genesis but Genesis didn't reciprocate, so he moved on to Jay-Den who was already interested in Kyle.
By the time Genesis realises she might be interested in Darem, he's already moved on and with Caleb and his Girlfriend in a Coma, and their being Holdovers, something more develops.
At which point, Darem decides not to be a douche and let Kyle-Den be, only to arrive back at the Academy to see Caleb and Genesis having coupled up.
Or thats how it would work if it was The OC.
Because of her 6 month rule.
I'm definitely here for shirtless Darem.
That would be the obvious answer.
