And the Next Cancelled Show is...

SVU is still going?? I dropped out when it became the Olivia show. Didn't she take a more prominent role in decision making?

I don't watch anymore but it's all Olivia all the time on season 27!!!! Sometimes other characters don't even appear in the episode to keep the budget down. Another way they keep the cost down is to add a new regular, then dump that regular at the end of the season, then add a new regular, then dump that regular at the end of the next season.

That would keep costs down but pee off actors

I have lost interest in anything primetime by the OTA networks. The complete lack of creativity and the constant drug ads just make it not worth my time.

Bang on.

^ I forgot that thing existed, like most things on Netflix.

Discoverability Issue strikes again! I think the only way a show can survive is through word of mouth, which is why so many shows get cancelled as nobody ends up knowing about them. Stranger Things was incredibly lucky in that it was word of mouth that carried it. It certainly wasn't Netflix's marketing department.

I'm toying with the idea of going back to Netflix but wondering if there's anything still worth it on there

A lot of people like to wait for a show to watch, sub for one month, then cancel.

There are a couple Oscar-nominated Netflix originals on there, Frankenstein and Train Dreams. All the Bond films are on there, even the unofficial Connery one.

Unfortunately, there's so much crap on there. They're the Blockbuster Video of streaming. But instead of Michael Dudikoff in a $5 million movie, it's Dwayne Johnson in a $150 million movie of similar quality (or lack of).

You brought back memories of old VHS tapes of cheap movies of his.... That's an actors name I have not heard in like ages.

I thought The Electric State was good, or had good reviews that came out I think a week or two after I had cancelled, but I guess that is gone now too.

Netflix buys up a decent number of small films of quality they don't bother promoting, which then completely disappear from the main screen after the first couple days, like Worth with Michael Keaton. So those take effort to find.

The film you mentioned was released as a Netflix exclusive last year and received negative reviews. It's still on Netflix. When Netflix decides to make a show, there are clauses regarding returning the broadcasting rights to the production company after a certain period of time following cancellation or completion, but they usually prefer to extend it when the contract expires.
