Spoilers SFA Ships & Tech

Well... if the Discovery and SNW Enterprise had TARDIS-like properties on their interiors, imagine what they could do by the 32nd/33rd century...

Recycled from starbases, right?

Meanwhile, how long before we see a first proper cross-section of this particular Athena?

i see chancellor l'rell is being honored by the empire's shipwrights by adding depictions of her boobs to their birds of prey

When Genesis says the classroom is nearby, the MSD suggests they are on Deck 12. Later, Engineering is on Deck 8, about halfway up the rim of the inner saucer, and Derem is on the saucer rather than the neck.
Is there a full MSD of this ship clearly seen yet? I remember seeing what appear to be top-down deck layouts but not a full profile MSD cutaway - unless I missed something, of course.

How would one show a MSD on a starship that is "bigger on the inside"? To the point where it may have vastly more decks than the outside would suggest.

They would likely make the bigger outside to make the inside fit. I suspect that's what they did for Discovery and their ridiculous turbolift hub funhouse, and the SNW-E with their cavernous lower cargo hold. Or they just simply ignored its existence and put something else in there where the TARDIS rooms were supposed to have been. Either way, it's kind of a cop-out from a lack of realistic planning and coordination.

We know they have the technology for "bigger on the inside" ships from the time traveling pod they found on Enterprise. It is a least a century farther back than the current DISCO/SA timeline.

- Any starship's turbolift ride has only ever been as long as the scene written that involves it. We don't QUITE know how tall the Athena is, but it's tall enough that Ake can be a cat next to her guest and have an extended talk. I think the record however was an incredibly long TOS Enterprise ride from the Bridge to Deck 2, though I can't remember the episode.

- The Athena is back on Earth after a one-episode jaunt to unexpectedly save the Klingon empire. I'm guessing that the show is set up that they can simply be in space whenever the story requires it, versus spending a whole term in space after a term on Earth or somesuch. Did everyone just get their Speed of Light club certificate in their materials on day one of classes?

- SAM is.. Probably..? Not using any ship-based systems or mobile emitter or lightbee as we understand it to project herself. This is arguably the first time we've seen her off campus and away from any infrastructure that can support her. She's also probably not a literally program being hosted in a physical server somewhere, so I'm looking forward to an explanation of what's supporting her. She's able to beam / reproject herself around a bar, so does that mean she's purely photonic energy? Or does she have an emitter that also has transporter technology built in?

- DS9 uniforms don't have pockets.

- Prior to this, the Bix symbiont was some 800 years old, near the end of its lifespan, and stated as older than most. Now Dax blows this out of the water, though some fans point out that time travel , various spacey shenanigans, or just really good genetics may have preserved it better than expected. It is DAX, after all.

- Sisko apparently chose to be in the clouds at rush hour. I don't know what the population of San Francisco is in 3195, but those are a LOT of ships / transports in the air during that last shot of the episode. And at that distance, they're all airliner-sized at least, if not bigger!

In another thread on the board someone screen capped the turbolift monitor which suggests there are either 17 or 35 decks, it looks like the decks in the Halo Section might be numbered apart from the saucer and neck.

If you look at the references in Episode 4 to the new Betazoid Government, the absence of the War College, Tarima and Ocam, it lends to the chronological order of the episodes being 1, 4. 2, 3, 5 - the only problem being their jackets from Episode 3 being worn.

We saw Caleb put an Usher on the fritz in Episode 2, so we might be able to assume that the Academy has some sort of long distance projection ability.

The costume they used I'm 90% sure is a screen used one that just hasn't been taken well care of over the years.

It appears to match this screen used Sisko uniform that was put on auction in 2015. I'm not sure if it is the same one and they contacted the buyer to ask to borrow it, but the pants are the same design.

I don't think that's a pocket, but a loop. probably where they'd normally hang their tricorder or phaser.
