What grade would you give the Marvel Cinematic Universe? (Ever-Changing Question)

The four teasers attached to Avatar garnered over a billion views on YouTube without ever once airing on standard television. They may very well decide that they don't need the super bowl. They may very well decide that they don't need the super bowl.

I was going to say nah, no way.

But honestly.... The MCU is worldwide. The amount of money Disney needs to spend to air during the superbowl while just dropping it on YouTube when ever they feel like..... Honestly makes more sense.

Kevin Feige will probably leave after the Endgame movies. Now boss and all and you would think he would want to eventually try and do something other than make MCU movies the rest of his career.

There will be movie-side questions that need to be addressed once D’Amaro and Walden settle in, including around Marvel and Feige. Marvel is the one division that hasn’t seen an overhaul in exec changes since Iger’s return — Disney announced in January that Kathleen Kennedy is handing over Lucasfilm’s leadership to Dave Filoni and Lynwen Brennan, and Greenbaum was elevated in February 2024 — and Feige’s future at the company is always a topic the town loves to gossip about. That said, insiders don’t expect a change anytime soon as Feige is focused on delivering the next Avengers movie in December as well as relaunching the X-Men franchise.

I cannot imagine there's a lot of cross appeal between the Oscars and a mega-MCU event. Hell, even the MCU and the Olympics feels like an odd pairing. With the Super Bowl at least there's an expectation of massive viewership, not just of the game, but also the commercials (even if that appeal has driven mostly towards YouTube these days).
Yeah, you're probably right. They were just the only events I could think of that weren't too close to the release of Brand New Day.

Sir Ian gave the audience a brief tease of his return as Magneto on Colbert last night. Jump to the 7:20 mark for the Magneto discussion (minor spoiler warning, even if Sir Ian doesn't think it's a spoiler...because he already mentioned in another interview earlier this week):

The whole interview is fantastic, ranging from Gandalf to Magneto to theater, ending on a performance of a speech from Sir Thomas More.

That interview was wonderful. I cried realizing that these may be the final movies he makes when he said he want to spend his final days acting in the theatre. It was also nice to see him being so overt about his sexual orientation, love of live performance, and ribbing Stephen about his love of Lord of the Rings. That speech at the end. It was the first time I'd heard it. Wow.

The interview and the concluding speech left me lamenting that I've never seen him live and I probably never will. I especially would've loved to have seen his King Lear with Sylvester McCoy as the Fool.

I'm at work so I can't post a link, but go on to YouTube and type in Ian McKellen Vicious Bloopers and prepare to laugh.
